Another hunan cuisine in SG? 🌶🥵 If you love your food savoury, spicy and packed with flavour, Xiangyee 湘野 is one to check out in Singapore! 🇸🇬 We had the chance to try this Michelin Bib Gourmand-recognised Hunan restaurant, and here’s what we had: 🥩 鲜炒黄牛肉 | Stir-Fried Yellow Beef Okay, this one is REALLY spicy! 🌶️ If you can’t take much heat, you might find it a little intense, but the beef was tender and savoury. Best enjoyed with a big bowl of rice to balance out the spice! 🍚 🍲 全家福 | Handcrafted Family Feast Our pick for a family meal! ❤️ The soup was hearty and flavourful, with plenty of meat and ingredients in every serving. Perfect for sharing around the table, especially when you’re dining with a bigger group. Definitely recommend getting this if you’re bringing your family along! 🥢 老卤三合一 | Old Brine Triple Combo This appetiser combo comes with beef tripe, pig’s ear and tofu products. It was spicy too, but we really enjoyed the mix of textures and flavours. 😂 We don’t usually eat coriander, but somehow we still managed to finish the whole plate! 💡 A little heads-up: The food here leans towards the savoury and spicy side, so do let the staff know if you prefer less heat. They don’t take reservations either, and queues can get longer during peak hours, so going earlier might save you some waiting time! The restaurant is a nice place for family meals and larger group gatherings, where everyone can order a few dishes and share. Good food, good drinks and live music 🎶 Had a lovely evening at Home Dusk Live House, a lively spot where good food, drinks and live music come together 🎶✨ We got to try a spread of dishes, including the refreshing Spicy Marinated Cucumber & Black Fungus, comforting Chinese Sausage Claypot Rice, Sizzling Spicy Beef Strips and the fiery Hunan-style Wok-Fried Pork with Green Chillies 🌶️🥢 My favourite was the claypot rice for sure! love the sweet and savoury flavours from 2 different types of sausages and the pork bacon. 🐟 Fish and Crayfish in the same pot! 😋 Visited Tong Fu Ju Sichuan and it was a great dining spot by the Singapore river! Seafood lovers would appreciate this place as much as I do! They serve a variety of seafood and sichuan staples. 🥢 It features a cozy indoor seating zone as well as an al fresco riverfront terrace. The outdoor tables offer a vibrant view, making it popular for both dates and group gatherings. 🌅 Here is what we've tried: 🥘 Signature Double Delight Tomato Grilled Lingbo Fish X Mala Crayfish They were absolutely delicious! I loved the tomato soup base, it was sweet and savoury. The fish was super fresh and tender, soaked in the rich tomato flavour! The mala crayfish was also meaty and I would say enjoyable for me! 🥬 Dry Fried French Beans with Minced Pork My classic tzechar vegetable order and it was great too! It was abit more on the peppery side, but adds on the the Sichuan flavour! The premium Korean BBQ experience you didn’t know you needed. ✨🥩 Hanjip Korean Grill House is officially our new go-to for date nights and special celebrations. ❤️ They have massive private rooms, making it the perfect hidden gem in Clarke Quay for a luxurious, intimate dinner or for gatherings. 🥂 We had the Hanjip Platter, and the meat quality is insane. 🥩 You get the perfect balance of premium beef and pork: juicy USDA Prime Ribeye, marbled USDA Prime Boneless Short Rib, melt-in-your-mouth Kurobuta Pork Belly, and flavorful Marinated Pork Collar. Pair it with authentic banchan and ice-cold soju, and you’re in foodie heaven. 🍃 No smoky clothes, no effort—just pure indulgence because the staff grills everything flawlessly right in front of you. 🍳 On top of these, I was definitely impressed at their appetisers and soups! This brought me back to Japan! 🇯🇵 This was really missed since my Japan trip! This was as good as the one I tried in Japan except that there were more cut options 🫶🏻 I really liked it medium-rare, or slightly sizzled on the top layer😋 they melt in my mouth! great balance of tenderness and meaty texture! Also, I prefer the chuck tail cut and go for this if you prefer a more lean and tender cut!
