Located this rare motorcycle in Texas stored in a barn on a ranch near Houston. Only 1956 original miles. The KTM 950 Super Enduro R (950 SE) is widely regarded as one of the most aggressive, uncompromising dual-sport motorcycles ever built. Produced for a very short window, it achieved legendary status precisely because it was "too much motorcycle" for almost anyone. ​ ​The Origin: Born from Rally Racing. ​In the early 2000s, KTM was dominating the Dakar Rally with their massive V-twin engines. ​After successfully launching the 950 Adventure, KTM's engineers asked a wild question: What happens if we strip away all the bodywork, give it hardcore dirt bike suspension, and make it a giant dual-sport? ​The answer was the 950 Super Enduro ​The Specs: A Dirt Bike on Steroids ​To understand why the 950 SE is so revered, you have to look at what it was: a 100-horsepower dirt bike. ​Engine: 942cc LC8 liquid-cooled 75^\circ V-twin, carbureted. ​Weight: 410 lbs (185 kg) dry. For a 1,000cc bike, this was astonishingly light. ​Suspension: Premium White Power (WP) suspension ​Seat Height: A towering 36.2 inches (920 mm), requiring serious height or serious confidence to ride. ​Unlike the 950 Adventure, the Super Enduro had no fairings, no windscreen, a smaller fuel tank (3.7 gallons), a trellis frame, and a minimalist dirt-bike seat. The total global production for the KTM 950 Super Enduro R (950SE) was roughly 3,000 units worldwide during its short production run from 2006 to 2008. Why It's a Unicorn ​Because of these low production numbers, the 950SE has achieved legendary status. It was a brief, glorious moment where KTM dropped a 98-horsepower, 942cc LC8 V-twin engine into a minimalistic, carburetor-fed dirt bike frame with no ABS, no traction control, and no fuel gauge.
