Unfortunately we did not see any sharks on the small number of trips we did in August. Together with bad weather and border closures we only operated 8 trips. We did see many whales and other amazing wildlife throughout the days.

We are really hoping a new month, with Spring in the air that the sharks will return very soon. Our next trip is on Saturday and we have everything crossed!

We are often asked to the reason for the lack of sightings. The honest answer is- 'there is no answer'. As no sharks live at Neptune Island Marine Park and they have a tail, they are free to travel where ever they please. We only need one shark to enter the area which can happen at anytime.

There are always periods of no sharks, this timing of these just vary each year. It is also important to note, we are the only operator who promotes the current activity and inform our booked guests, if we did not do this the lower sightings may not be known.

We look forward to sharing all the photos of sharks on our trips. The sharks do always return and we cannot wait. It has been a tough year and we hope our luck will change very soon! taken in Shark Cage Diving - Calypso Star Charters by @calypsostarcharters

It was 2 years ago today guest @wendy_b_l_ was on board and filmed this amazing footage. This shark accidentally tipped herself over whilst spy hopping and corrected herself she was perfectly fine. We saw her again a few days later being super curious again and was an amazing shark to see. If you want to see other videos of her look at our Youtube channel for videos from the 3rd & 7th October 2019 charters. Thanks so much Wendy for sharing the footage with us. What a great day it was. Yesterday we saw 2 different Great White Sharks.

Built for life at the top of the food chain. 🦈

The great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is one of the ocean’s most highly evolved predators, using an extraordinary combination of sight, smell and electroreception to navigate and hunt.

Let me know your favorite Shark in the comments below?

Photographed in the wild at the Neptune Islands, off Port Lincoln, South Australia. 🇦🇺

Another favourite from our collection of photos taken on previous trips.

This great front on shot was taken by @simon_phelps_photography during one of his trips with us. Simon joined us on board several times over the years and some of his photos can still be seen displayed on our vessels.

We have always liked front on images of great white sharks, and this one is even better with the trevally looking straight at the camera as well.

Thanks Simon for sharing your photos with us.

Another favourite from our collection of photos taken on previous trips.

This fantastic smiling shark photo was captured by @toddthimios during one of his trips with us.

Todd has joined us on board a number of times over the years and has captured some amazing moments.
We often say our sharks smile for the camera, and they certainly make us smile in return.

This photo has been shared countless times over the years, often with a variety of different memes attached, but we wanted to share it while giving credit to the photographer behind the image.

Thanks Todd for sharing your photography with us.
