Dear Spelman,

I came to you not knowing what to expect or where this journey would take me. Today, as my journey is ending, I’m leaving a young woman who understands why God paved her path here. Thank you for teaching me lessons that I couldn’t learn anywhere else. Thank you for providing me with the support and confidence I need to step out into this world. Thank you for pouring into me.
Thank you for making me the Spelman Woman I am today.

Dreams do come true!

I want to thank a six-year-old girl who sat outside on the stairs of her Brooklyn brownstone telling her uncle she was going to be a doctor. I thank her for trusting and having faith in me to achieve her dream.

I also want to thank God for not only guiding my steps thus far but also for the village of family and friends that have supported me.

I’m truly blessed!!!!
