beyond elated to announce that, if youuuuu can believe it, my work was selected to show at @thefridacinema's twin peaks themed lobby art show, officially opening to the public on february 7th in tandem with the downtown santa ana artwalk taking place from 5-10 PM!! extremely grateful for this opportunity (thanks @edrianochoa <3) to show and sell my work in tribute of the monumental late great david lynch. the show will continue from february to march and is available to view just in the lobby of the frida (of which the atmosphere is quite homely and nice, a local getaway for OC's arthouse film lovers). this piece was done in the span of a month and printed on hanhemuhle paper, so getting this framed and delivered on time was a journey in and of itself. thank you to everyone who's helped me along the way, and see you at the movies!

of my top 100 films of all time, paul thomas anderson has made at least five of them. magnolia (1999) is certainly not perfect, but it's candidly my favorite because of its messiness and earnestness. so raw and real, with an amazing aimee mann soundtrack plus an oscar-worthy performance from tom cruise... it's a big swing on all fronts! everyone should watch it at least once! at the very least before i make part 2..

almost 6 years ago, when lockdown was at its height, i wrote a story about triads and the mafia and cops having it out in 1980s chicago. it's maybe a gross oversimplification of the plot, but it's since sprouted into a years-long passion project between me and my best friend @sentoramen that spanned several entries, side-stories, a sequel series, and spinoff titles. all of which remain unreleased to the public out of my sheer shyness. i don't think i'm a great writer. it's different sensibilities from being a visual artist, after all. but, as i've gone and revisited, reappraised, and rewritten old works i figured that it wasn't all that bad. maybe even great? that's not for me to decide.

it's finally here! when i first started this project 2 months ago i was but a mere photoshop novice... and now i know slightly more about picturemaking (thank you @oliviabrett.psd for all the guidance 😭). the sopranos means a lot to me, and i don't think any other show will ever be able to reach the heights of season 6b for me. maybe i'm just a fan of dread and tragedy, but the malaise of 21st century america is captured in full swing with these final 9, with every possible path for these characters turning up a dead end. it's all a big nothing, livia once said. i think tony finally understood that by the end of the show. eek. bleak stuff!

hope you enjoyed this poster series, and thank you to everyone for tuning in week to week! the support really means the world to me 🫡🫡🫡 and there's always more goodies to come!

this one took me way too long. what started as a gag idea ended up taking almost a month to pull off, complete with a visit to @thetrainshack (where i bought an excellent conductor hat) and several rounds of asking everybody i know for feedback. the journey was long and treacherous but we made it to the light at the end of the tunnel. thank you all.

season 6a is a little bit divisive, and i can understand how some might see it as the weakest season. it's funny that chase inverted the formula of sopranos seasons by starting with the most intense episodes and ending on a mundane note, but it's greatly effective for the entire arc of season 6 as a whole (plus, 609 the ride is one of my favorite sopranos episodes ever). if nothing else, it sets the stage well for what is to follow... hehe.. stay tuned..
