🌟💜CUDS 2026-27🩵🌟 Cambridge, we are ready for you! We cannot wait for CUDS to bring you another year of dance, joy, and community. Our society is open to everyone 18+, and we host weekly classes, as well as workshops and regular socials. Keep an eye out for more from us over the next couple of months… we are so excited to see everyone in October! 🌟CUDCT Captains🌟 Meet Martha and Esmé, your CUDCT Captains for 2026/27! Hi, I’m Martha and I’m so excited to be CUDCT co-captain this year!! I grew up doing mostly ballet and modern and was part of the CUDCT Jazz and Lyrical styles in first year. Hi, I’m Esmé, your CUDCT co-captain this year! I spent my gap year dancing with a contemporary ballet junior company in France, but have also really enjoyed CUDS jazz classes this year. As captains. we organise and run all the team auditions, rehearsals and competitions, including Varsity (our annual competition against Oxford). CUDCT is an amazing way to continue dancing at a really high level and is also a super social and friendly environment. This year we hope to continue the balance of being a competitive team that trains hard but is also a really lovely community and we want to encourage everyone to audition. 🌟Socials🌟 Meet Alice and Olivia, your Social Secretaries for 2026/27! My name is Alice and I am one of the social secs for 2026-27! I’m from Ascot, and as a child I mainly did ballet and tap, but since joining CUDS my main styles are contemporary and jazz. I’m Olivia, your other social sec this year! I grew up doing ballet, tap and jazz but I hope to try a few new styles this year! We have the fun task of ensuring everyone has the best time with CUDS and makes many friends and memories to last a lifetime. We would love to get more people involved in socials this year as we think it’s so important to give yourself a break! CUDS is the perfect place to pick up something new or carry on a childhood passion and we particularly love the relaxed and empowering atmosphere that we create in all our classes. 🌟Merchandise/Safety🌟 Meet Caitlin, your Merchandise/Safety Officer for 2026/27! Heyy I’m Caitlin, I’m from Lincoln, and I’m so excited to be your merch/safety officer this year! In this role I organise CUDS stash orders and show costumes and I’m here to listen to any safety concerns you may have. I hope to offer the coolest CUDS stash yet and use as much of my design skills as possible when creating the best costumes for this year’s show ;)! I’ve been dancing from a young age in ballet, jazz and tap and was lucky enough to be a part of the ballet team on our competition team, CUDCT, last year! This year you’ll most likely catch me trying to revive my tap skills in our tap classes, maintaining my strength in ballet and maybe even trying a brand new style completely! Dance to me is a release from the stress of uni life and this is something CUDS has provided for me! 🌟Publicity🌟 Meet Chloris, your Publicity Officer for 2026/27! Hi everyone!! I’m Chloris, your publicity officer this year! This means I produce the promotional material and manage our social media platforms. I get to share the important information with our members and spread CUDS joy both within and outside of our society! I’ve made some of my best friends here and I hope to make CUDS an even more welcoming and friendly community this year. I grew up in Hong Kong doing ballet but have been introduced to so many great styles here, so you’ll probably catch me in any style of class making the most of my final year! I would recommend CUDS to anyone who is interested in dance at all; there is such a large variety of styles and levels, as well as a lovely group of people to connect with. CUDS has been such an important part of my university experience and every ‘sorry I have dance’ has been worth it. I can’t wait to see you all soon! 🌟Treasurer🌟 Meet Ariel, your Treasurer for 2026/27! Hi everyone! I’m Ariel, your Treasurer this year! I manage CUDS finances from budgeting for classes, shows and events to handling membership payments. I get to make sure CUDS stays accessible and sustainable so everyone can keep dancing, and I hope this encourages as many poeple as possible to start and/or continue their dance journey at Cambridge. My dance background is in ballet, but since joining CUDS I’ve been spending more time on contemporary, street and commercial, you might even spot me at heels class. CUDS is for everyone from beginners to advanced dancers across a wide variety of styles with workshops and collaborations with other societies to keep things fresh and exciting. 🌟Secretary/Welfare🌟 Meet Becky, your Secretary/Welfare Officer for 2026/27! Hi everyone!! I’m Becky, and I’m your secretary/welfare officer this year! My role as secretary means organising the places you’ll all be dancing in and always making sure there are spaces suitable for all styles of dance! I also take up the role of a welfare officer. This means that if you feel you’re struggling with your mental health or need some advice with how to manage things, I’m the person that you can come too! I’ll always be a point of contact in the society, and will do my best to help however I can! I’ve been dancing since I was three, mostly training in ballet and jazz growing up, but since being at uni I’ve picked up commercial and heels which have become favourites of mine! I would really encourage you guys to come along to CUDS. It’s brought so much joy to my uni experience and I’ve ended up finding some great friends through dance. 🌟Vice-President🌟 Meet Elena, your Vice-President for 2026/27! Heyy I’m Elena, the vice president this year. As VP I organise teachers, classes and covers weekly, alongside workshops. If you have any questions about any of these things I’m more than happy to help. I grew up in Surrey, starting ballet and jazz from a young age. When I was 15 I decided to try hiphop & commercial and loved them! You’d most likely find me in street, commercial or heels (which I picked up last year) classes.
