Put your skis away, there’s still dry granite. 😤 A Riggins NYE conditions report! We sorta froze, but still climbed some. Here’s Carson showing Jack his new route, Callisto. #ManningCrevice #ClimbIdaho #RockClimbing #CreviceMan #ClimbingPhotography #WeatherManCountYourDays by @camdonkay

Wrapping up my thesis the next couple of weeks, and looking forward to spending every spare moment I have afterwords outside with friends.

Here is a route overlay of the south face of Castle Rock in #CastleRocksStatePark that I put together. With my new camera, I’ll be able to print these overlays in large sizes in great detail. Psyched! Let me know what you think.

In my opinion, Electric Avenue is one of the most striking crags at the City. My favorite Idaho climbing photographer, the late Mark Weber, took a beautiful photo of this wall years ago. When my buddies said they were interested in trying Fido, I tagged along to snap some photos. This is my homage to Mark’s shot! #CityOfRocks #ClimbIdaho #SportClimbing #ClimbingPhotography #Climbing by @camdonkay

Temperatures are back at Manning Crevice! It is fun to see this place continue to grow. Here is Jack on Small Town Inertia (5.10c T) and Stereotype (5.10b? S), which are two pitches we have put up recently. Come climb! #AskMeAboutIt taken in Lower Salmon River ID by @camdonkay

I have two rolls of film from the Middle Fork last week that I am anxiously waiting to be developed. It was my first time, and it was an incredible experience! On the final day of the trip, I got to thrutch my way up this sweet riverside splitter. Thanks to Hines, Blaze, and Geoffrey for these pictures (I strategically omitted the ones of me doggin it) by @camdonkay

City of Rocks, Idaho. A place loved by many, and especially cherished by climbers.

Over the years, the ASCA has supplied around 700 anchors and lower offs, along with more than 1100 bolts for replacement and maintenance efforts at the City of Rocks.

Many volunteers have contributed to maintaining the climbing resources, in particular the prolific @dbing621 has been a constant force over the years.

Recent active volunteers @boardjumpz @aziggy32_ and @camdonkay have been getting lots of work done in collaboration with the park.

A big thank you to @cityofrocksnps for working with volunteers to issue rebolting permits, this work is critical for climber safety.

With fixed hardware dating back many decades, bolt replacement plays an important role in maintaining climbing resources.

On many routes, dedicated lower-off anchors replace a variety of old anchor systems, simplify descents, reduce the need for climbers to open their systems at the top of routes, and make climbing safer and more efficient for everyone.

The City has a big variety of pitch lengths, along with many multi pitch routes - not all pitches will be appropriate for lower off hardware here.

Always close your system with a knot at the end of your rope, many pitches at the City require an 80 meter to get down!

Took another trip to Riggins this weekend to pull on some limestone and make some pictures. On the hike out, Jack decided to make things a little more interesting by slicing his leg open during a log crossing. Bro needed like a dozen stitches, but nonchalantly accepted this as an opportunity for some needed forced rest. Wild n crazy! #SportClimbing #ClimbIdaho #ClimbingPhotography by @camdonkay

We have been climbing at a wall in McCall near the wildlife sanctuary, and it has some of the most scenic moderate crack climbing I’ve seen! Hopefully these capture a bit of the experience #ClimbIdaho #ClimbingPhotography #CrackClimbing #TradClimbing by @camdonkay

Getting lost in a sea of granite with Carson and Michael! Despite climbing the formation a couple times via other routes, I had never climbed the classic Regular Route. That funky crux gave me pause, and I fancy myself a pretty solid 5.6 climber. They don’t make them like they used to! #ClimbingPhotography #ClimbIdaho #TradClimbing #RockClimbing by @camdonkay
