When you forget to check your tire pressures after the previous run...

First autocross since March in ole trusty rusty! This time at @itsbristolbaby. This run was good for 1st in CAMT by about 0.4s and 14th PAX overall. Not bad for a 6 month hiatus! #protouring #Autocross #scca #classiccars #camaro by @camdout68

The LS7 refresh is coming along, albeit slowly. It was stripped down to a bare block after the discovery of the failing @compcamsofficial camshaft. Friends in the industry revealed to me that fretting of the cam case hardening is common from COMP, as they grind the cams too fast and damage the heat treat. Over time, the case hardening fatigues, cracks, and eventually falls off.

The cam bearings were also in poor shape. Once the rod and main bearings came out, it was clear that the decision to go thru everything was the right one.

The short block is now going back together with all new @clevite.mahle.caterpillar bearings and @cammotioncams Titan 3 LS7 to replace the destroyed BTR stage 3 LS7 V1 cam that was ground by COMP.

Last video of the car running before the discovery of the MIA lash cap. Refreshed LS7 is coming along. Thankfully, everything is fairly easily fixable. Not exactly something I wanted to do right now though. Was hoping to make it until winter to pull the engine and refresh the LS7.

Some call it #justls7things , I call it My Curse

Doeve the car home, drained the oil to change it to race weight oil, found a broken lash cap stuck to the drain plug magnet.

Throwback to last June at @barbermotorpark when @joshwatkins95 broke his 5 speed and we replaced it with a marketplace find overnight so he could get back on track for the next day. by @camdout68

First autocross with the new car setup and GoPro. The car felt great even on a set of worn out tires. Balance was great, new brakes worked very well with zero perceptible pad knockback thanks to the new front uprights and @millerbuiltusa full floater. I ran a 47.2xx, which was good enough for 1st, but barely tapped a cone. This run was a 47.8xx, good for 2nd in CAMT behind Dan and 9th PAX overall.

Special thanks to @jordomii for being the grill master and making burgers for the @official_driveut crew. by @camdout68
