🥸 Hey everybody, I have a new stand up comedy special out today.

It’s called Folksy, Night 2. I like it. I hope you get a chance to watch it, hope you enjoy it and if you do, please share it.

As always thanks to Eric Trundy and Seth Payne for putting on those shows with me and everyone that came to see them. They’re a really special memory

Relaunching Discovering the Audience as “F*CK AROUND AND FIND OUT!!” a play workshop that allows me to share all of the incredible work and training that I’ve been so lucky to do with the community. It’s the same goals, but this world is closer to the vision I have for the workshop 🫶💥

Come play Oct 20 7-9p @culturews (9th floor Liberty Plaza)!!!

I’m no clown teacher, but I’ve been lucky enough to afford and have the time to go train with incredible teachers and, to be honest, I can’t stop doing it and I want to keep training here in Winston!

I realized that I didn’t feel like I “could” or “deserved” to run a clown and play workshop, so I made it business-y — partially because I was a Business Girl myself and sometimes I feel more comfortable with that. If you are a business person and want to throw down, PLEASE come through!! I just want you to know what you’re getting into!

Before clowning and the musical improv, I was so stuck taking creative advice from people whose careers I didn’t want, creating unfulfilling work because I didn’t know what else to do, and drowning in a hell of my own making!! 🤪

I want more, more, more! More fun and more play and more silly energizing **authentic** work.

We need clown and play workshops outside of NYC, London, DC, Philly! I want to share this work and the people who have inspired me and been kind enough to share a WHOLE NEW WORLD of training, exploration and expression that I’d never dreamed of (or allowed myself to hope for)!! It’s a huge thank you thank you thank you to everyone I’ve met along this weird strange beautiful path.

I can’t wait to share these exercises and explorations with you guys. I want us to build it together.

PS - if you are a Clown Teacher and you would like to come to Winston to teach a workshop, PLEASE DM ME!! I would love to start coordinating that ✨ taken in Culture WS by @camelgatecomedy

Are you relaxed, quick and funny in your day-to-day but freeze up when you’re onstage? Does being onstage feel scarier than meeting your partner’s parents?

Come to Discovering the audience, a workshop where we work on staying present, finding our joy in performance and presentations, and telling the truth onstage.

It’s the perfect place for performers seeking more creative freedom, professionals looking to level up their public speaking and client interactions, and anyone comedy-curious who wants to explore being themselves in front of a supportive audience.

Be brave, be bold and find your joy.

Using tools from standup, improv, theatrical clowning and business best practices to guide us to a connected and free onstage presence. You’ll find the courage to stay present, explore and find what works for YOU and your audience.

About your facilitator:
Gen Singer (UK comedy competition SYTYF Semi-Finalist ‘24, West End New Act of the Year Semi-Finalist ‘25) is a writer, comedian, playwright and director whose sweet and playful demeanor underlies original sharp, hilarious observations about the silly and the mundane. Previously, she led product and strategy for a small startup, growing the company (Napkin) from 0 to millions of users. Locally, she performs musical improv with Tonight’s Special in Winston-Salem and runs her alternative comedy and drag night “La Dolce Vita”. taken in Culture WS by @camelgatecomedy
