I was fortunate to second for Aron Leong-
an experience that was nothing short of a privilege. Aron was an erudite mentor with a brilliant dry sense of humour that made learning from him a joy. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. May you rest in peace Aron. Your talent, wisdom and wit will be greatly missed. Thinking of your family and loved ones at this time. by @cameramiranda

It is with profound sadness and the heaviest of hearts that I share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our dear friend Riki Byrne

Riki was part of our film family; she was my right hand, my confidant, and my unwavering support. She kept me pushing, even when the odds seemed insurmountable. In an industry and a department where women of our era are definitely scarce. Riki’s presence was not only invaluable but groundbreaking.

Together, we faced challenges, reveled in successes, and created memories that will forever be cherished.

Our recent collaboration in Cairns stands as a testament to Riks talent, dedication, creative spirit and tireless work ethic- inspiring.

I wish I had captured more moments with her, the impact of her presence in my life is indelible.

Rest in peace, dearest Rik. You will be deeply missed. Your laughter, kindness, wicked sense of humour, love of unicorns, horses, red frogs and your steadfast friendship will forever reside in my heart. by @cameramiranda
