to mayor Tom Arceneaux & Ms. Tari Bradford, thank you so much for the opportunity to be a part of the 2026 Mayor’s Summer Internship Program. 🤍

this summer challenged me & left me with so much gratitude for the people working behind the scenes to keep the City of Shreveport moving. i got the privilege of meeting students from several universities, all carrying the same heart for serving our communities & representing our campuses. that alone was such a gift.

& above everything, thank You God. for every open door, every person, & every moment that reminded me You were right there. none of this would’ve been possible without You. forever, always grateful. ♾️🤍

p.s. i was so nervous i forgot to tell 5️⃣0️⃣ cent that wanksta was my favorite song from him taken in Shreveport, Louisiana by @cameronlatin

this experience has been deeply healing for me in ways i’m still trying to fully understand. there was something about stepping into this space, showing up for these kids, & being met with so much honesty, vulnerability, & love that quietly reshaped me throughout the week. i’m leaving feeling held, softened, and changed in ways i don’t think i have words for yet.

thank you, God, for being in all of it. i hope i was able to reflect even a small piece of Your love and guidance into these children’s lives, the same way You carried me through every part of this experience.

to my fellow mentors, i’ll be honest, i didn’t know what to expect at first. but getting to know each of you became one of the most meaningful parts of this entire experience. the way you showed up for these children while carrying your own stories, your own healing, & your own lives was incredibly moving to witness. i hope you, & every child left feeling a little more seen, a little more safe, & a little more loved than when they arrived. so grateful for you, & i’ll always be just a text or call away.

& to Z… your leadership is so inspiring. your love for every single child was evident day in & day out. the way you advocate for them, protect them, & create spaces where they feel safe, seen, & valued is something truly special. your heart is so big, & i genuinely wish more people in this world cared the way you do. your compassion never goes unnoticed, & i hope your passion never dwindles. please continue pushing boundaries, challenging limits, & believing in the impact you’re capable of making. you’re going to make an amazing social worker one day, & i have no doubt that countless lives will be better because of you.
