wow. in a blink of an eye it’s all just a memory. after 19 years the sport that gave me everything, was suddenly over. as i played my last game i remember looking at the clock with 5 minutes left and tears filled my eyes. tears knowing how bittersweet the feeling was, seeing my parents in the stands one last time, looking at the bench seeing teammates who turned into family. hockey was much more then a game, and i am forever grateful for the memories and laughs its filled me with. hockey shaped me into the person i am today. giving me a lot but most importantly strength… strength to take my skates off for the last time, hang my jersey up, pack my bag, and walk away! ill miss the game always and probably forever :( but as my dear friend and teammate once told me “once a hockey player, always a hockey player” - @matayahmetz9 🥹 one day ill throw my hands up to celebrate and all the wins, losses, goals, hugs, tears, games, and everything in-between will come flooding back and ill know it was all worth it. by @camerontschmidt
