5-head workshop in 5 days with @rickpiloco 🌙✨ The best! I’d been wanting to take these classes for months, and I feel like there was real progress from the first head to the fifth ☀️ I’m melting in NY, but heading to the League @aslnyc early in the morning is the prettiest part of summer 😊 by @cami_roco_

Maspeth, Queens — between auto repair shops and quiet residential streets — there’s a laundromat that’s been running since 1910.

From the outside, nothing gives it away.

Inside: saxophonists, drummers, an audience sitting between the washing machines. A lineup that leans toward improvisation, experimentation, and the kind of music that doesn’t fit anywhere else. Diverse, unpretentious, genuinely free.

The series is organized by a collective of artists and musicians from different parts of the world. One of its members is @giansound , an actor & musician from Puerto Rico. In this space, you’ll find people from everywhere — different languages and different backgrounds, all converging through sound and curiosity.

Brothers Wash & Dry @brotherswashanddry isn’t trying to attract a crowd. But people with a spirit of freedom — and a desire to gather, listen, and collide with something real — somehow find their way there.

New York still has places like this. Not many.

Some stories arrive before you know they’re stories. I met Keith at this community park months ago — we talked about music, migration, and what it means to create your own music. On Sunday 07 June, he’s releasing his album at this same spot 🎷

In a city of millions — artists, musicians, painters, composers — some of them catch my eye.
Not because of their fame. Because of the way they think. What they believe about art. How they keep going.

Immigrants building lives between cultures. That’s the story I know. That’s the story I tell.

Diego Mora arrived from Venezuela with an interest in drawing, but it was in New York where he began to discover the work of the old masters. Today his gaze is focused on people, portraiture, and their emotions. I enjoyed talking with this young artists in the middle of Central Park.

The classical tradition is something that drives Diego. With all his youth, he resists the urge to keep looking forward without first understanding what happened in the past.

There is a new interview with this great painter in my youtube channel.
