As women, we are born carrying an invisible weight—one we never chose, yet one we bear every day.

Something as simple as walking alone at night becomes an act of resistance, overshadowed by fear and the need for constant vigilance.

Today is not a celebration—it is a reminder that our fight is far from over. Our rights, our safety, our voices—none of it should be up for debate.

Three weeks, five completely different approaches to movement, and approximately 847 things I'm still processing.

I came to Dance Italia expecting to train. I didn't expect to have so many of my assumptions about dance challenged.

That technique isn't the whole story.
That discomfort can be productive.
That repetition can create freedom.
That memories can become movement.
That contemporary dance can be serious and playful.
That rhythm, groove, culture, humor, and joy don't make the work less valuable.
That sometimes the most interesting thing I can bring into a room isn't another skill, but myself.

I don't think I left with a completely new perspective on dance.
I left with more confidence in the perspective I was already beginning to develop!

Thank you @dance_italia

Things to ponder as we enter a new season.

Being a dancer is not as easy as it seems. It asks for an incredible amount of vulnerability, and rejection can feel deeply personal.

As we step into another season of auditions, casting, classes, and opportunities, remember that your worth is not determined by whether you get picked.

We are here to train, to grow, to develop our own voice, to discover what we have to say and how we want to say it.

Being chosen is one part of this career. It is not the measure of it.
