On January 6th, i had the opportunity to be alongside 13 hbcu panelist. This workshop wasn’t just about college it was about possibility. About showing young people what exists beyond the limits they’ve been taught to see.

Growing up in Oakland, California, I never had access to rooms like this. I didn’t get to sit across from people who looked like me, sounded like me, and came from the same environments people who could say, “I made it out.”

Being able to stand in that gap now to offer guidance, truth, and lived experience to students and families was deeply personal. This was about more than HBCUs. It was about being able to relate with the youth. It was about showing Black excellence not as an idea, but as a lived, reachable reality.

I’m thankful for the chance to pour into the next generation in a way I once needed myself. Thank you to Colorado HBCU Connect and Myles Chapman for creating spaces that don’t just inform but inspire and motivate the youth. by @camissaved

It is VERY HARD to do what @camissaved has managed to do. To see where he is now vs. where he was then… We hope to make that the norm, not the exception at @everforwardclub

Proud of my former student 🥹
