Another year another ALTO Pro Am

What a crazy week of emotions and events! To have my parents here was such a treat they showed up every day to help and stayed every night till the end to dance the nights away 🫶

Extremely grateful for the people around me that help make this event what it is. @raawwwrii I don’t even know where to start but all I know is I’m bloody glad it’s you I’m running the events with, always there when I need you day in day out 🫶.

To everyone else that helped

I made dis

My first piece of furniture and won’t be the last!

Last year I became very interested in joinery and woodwork particularly the old school or Japanese way without screws or nails. Around the same time my sister @jadeindiajeffery had just brought a house and I thought well instead of buying her a housewarming gift why not make one! I saw a reel of a cabinet with Tambour (Constantine) doors and thought how hard can that be? So when I got back to New Zealand for Christmas I started the project with some help and tools from @stinkinghot and Will. Funnily enough old fashion woodworking is time consuming stuff! Anyways after many lessons learnt and far to many hours behind a router it came up pretty good just in time for @jadeindiajeffery birthday! I achieved my goal of not using and screws or nails it’s held together by a spline joins, dove tail joins and a smidge of wood glue! All from recycled timber: Australian Jarrah, New Zealand Remu and a few mystery pieces in the doors

Ps one day I’ll learn to smile in a picture by @camjef
