[Ad] Hello and welcome back to another round of heavy music, this time with @camosband and "Hide from the Light" on Cd. Rooted in the spirit of early black metal and classic heavy metal, Brazil's CAMOS combine old-school influences with a clear modern production. Hide From The Light was released in 2024 via Murder Records. Let's take a closer look at what the album has to offer.

The title track, 'Hide From The Light', opens the album with a strong dose of classic heavy metal, its opening riff recalling Ozzy Osbourne's 'I Don't Know' before evolving into a confident anthem driven by powerful vocals and an impressive guitar solo. 'Desert Devil' shifts towards a darker, doom-infused atmosphere with clear Mercyful Fate influences and tasteful lead work, while 'Run To Kill' keeps the momentum alive with its energetic old-school approach.

Energy and melody go hand in hand on 'Run To Kill', where driving riffs, a memorable chorus, and prominent bass lines create one of the album's strongest tracks. 'When Love Ends In Blood' takes a more atmospheric direction, blending nostalgic '80s influences with expressive guitar work and horror-inspired lyrics that leave a lasting impression. Steeped in an unmistakable engagement atmosphere, 'The Devil's Concubine' combines memorable riffs with a dark, seductive mood that perfectly complements the song's title. 'Waiting Your Command' broadens the album's musical scope, incorporating progressive elements and a variety of metal influences without ever sacrificing cohesion.

Come to Brazil, they said, enjoy the black metal, they said.

And that's what we're gonna do tonight! This Tuesday, we're heading to Curitiba to explore the local BM scene.
It seems that in the capital of Parana, black metal is flourishing, but its mastery is concentrated in just a few figures.

Luis is one of the people that the local black metal scene revolves around. But of course, he cannot carry all this weight on his back. By now, the most established bands are still at the top of the popularity ranking, but some emerging BM acts may overtake the local scene within the next few years.

As we're not gonna complain about there being too much new BM to listen to, we just wish all of you long, successful careers - Curitiba, and Brazil need you!

CAMOS elevates the old hard’n’heavy obscure flame of glory in the Vera Cruz lands (Brazil), Curitiba, since 2000, so these guys aren’t new at the scene especially if you count with Sucoth Benoth in their ranks, Amen Corner’s bestial frontman. The truth is that, musically, you don’t get this kind of knowledge and experience nowadays so easily.

With “Hide from the Light”, their semaphore album, CAMOS powerful reign continues untouchable. 10 new songs ready to melt your ears with their horned chorus, their somberlain melodies to hypnotize our senses into deep slumber and the guitar solos to strip us from our souls. Overall, a fantastic production gives this work an in depth texture in which all heavy metal fans will relate in a blink of an eye.

Caos: Guitars
Ulysses Freire: Bass
Cj Dubiella: Drums
