AD | My children wake up camping like they’ve been plugged in to charge overnight. Me? I need coffee and at least 20 minutes before anyone expects anything from me 😂

So a play park within immediate launching distance of the tent is genuinely one of my camping non-negotiables. That’s why I like being able to search for campsites through Camping and Caravanning Club and find the things that actually matter to us, rather than realising after we’ve booked that my idea of “family friendly” and theirs are VERY different.

Play park? Yes. Electric hook-up? Also yes. I enjoy camping, but I’m not interested in cosplaying the 1800s.

Ad We’re squeezing in a little autumn camping escape with @campandcaravan

Simon prepped two s’mores recipes before we came to Normans Bay, one savoury and one sweet, both really easy to make on a camping trip.

And if you fancy getting away this autumn too, Camping and Caravanning Club stays are available from just £13 per person per night.
