1954 FL Panhead “Japos” — This pan originally began its life as a police bike before being stripped of its identity, and crafted into a chopper in the mid to late 60’s. It was originally owned by a wonderful man named Joe Seifert who lived in the “ghetto” of cleveland ohio. Joe bought the bike just before being drafted into the Vietnam War, and spent a number of years slightly altering its shape after he came home.

Its final ride was in 1987 (as the license plate tags show, and from what his sister recalls) - After that, Joe drained its fluids and stored the bike in his living room to keep it safe; and so he could look at it all day every day, which is what I do as well 🙂 For the last 20ish years or so, the bike sat untouched in his sister Janet’s shed (shown in the second photo), as Joe sadly passed away quite some years ago.

Since January, I’ve spent countless hours completely rebuilding every part of this motorcycle. Every step of the process has been documented through photos/videos, with the goal of sending them to Joe’s family and friends so they have something special to remember him by.
