The Friends of the Campbell County Public Library will be hosting a Book Sale on the lower level of the Newport Branch on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 9 am-noon.

Prices range from 25 cents up to $4 for select titles. Cash and checks are accepted. Free books are also available.

Cam Cares, formerly known as Drop Your Drawers, is back for its 12th year on Nov. 1!

This year, the library aims to raise 6,000 pairs of new undergarments for distribution to students in public elementary, middle and high schools in Campbell County.

Simply drop by your local branch to drop off any type of undergarment item, and we will take care of the rest.

The Cam Cares campaign runs from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31.

The @americanlibraryassociation’s Office for Intellectual Freedom (OIF) tracked 4,235 unique titles challenged in 2025, the second highest ever documented by ALA. The highest ever documented was 4,240 in 2023. ALA documented 713 attempts to censor library materials and services, 487 of which targeted books.
