The Playa provides is a cute saying, especially with ground scores and grilled cheese, but it actually does provide, just not in the ways we ever really expect or imagine.

No matter how much you’ve learned or prepared, the playa WILL fuck with your plans, which only means ya can’t force the magic. Instead, you’ve gotta surround yourself with magical people and only then will magical things happen.

This year, we weren’t just surrounded by magical people, we were deluged by the most extraordinary humans who effortlessly exuded pure love, respect and true burner spirit, starting with our super human leadership.

If you’ve never run a big camp, built large art or a mammoth mutant vehicle or all of the above, you really can’t understand how harrowing it is or how much money it actually takes, so let’s just say it’s a full time job that we pay to do. Nobody knows this better than our fearless leaders and worker bytes who forged ahead this year with the passion of a thousand burners!

They persevered with positivity when things looked bleak, absorbing the inevitable playa drama with great sacrifice and patient understanding. They made it look easy, even in the face of the myriad physical and emotional challenges. We extend our infinite love, gratitude and respect to this awe-inspiring team of magnanimous maniacs!

Of course, things are never perfect but Burning Man’s not about perfect, it’s not a festival or party, it’s a journey of self exploration, self discovery and human connection, unmoored from the automaton routines and chronic anxieties of our default world that often distract us from sincerely connecting with each other “irl”. It’s a time to reflect on what we really need, who we really are, what we really want and with whom we want it. The answers to those questions this year will forever be carved into the cornerstone of our community.

We are furever thankful to all of you magical friends for being such an integral part of making all our dreams come true and, of course, #BurningMan for continuing to allow our imaginations to build with impunity!

Yottabytes of fluffin love,
Chip, Terra + Petabyte

Home is where the he-art is.

To us, Home is not the work place, it’s not someplace you get paid to be or build, it’s sanctuary where you can be yourself with impunity. At home you don’t get a salary to do your own laundry, cook your own meals, entertain your family and friends, it’s a space free from the shackles of a world we’re forced to accept, a space of comfort, inclusion and community.

That is what this bunch of scrappers, renegades and doers, who appreciate the challenges and cherish the lessons, mean when we say Burning Man is home. We show up for ourselves, our loved ones, our community, no strings attached just relationships.

This year we were honored to meet and adopt some more amazing, like minded humans into our home and help them make it their home as well. You all burned with the heart and strength of a thousand burners thanks to the tenacity and guidance of our super talented and compassionate leaders! You’re all the real fucking deal.

Through the dust storms and mud, through blown out tires and blown up feet, we are so proud of what we were able to achieve with hearts far richer than our pocket books.

We got Petabyte out for Man Burn followed by a majestic sunrise with our new furiends @oveous and @marqueswyatt . We had 2 baby bytes for Chip and Terra, we ate like royalty and our noses were always stuffed. Our community completes the art and boy did we complete the art!!

This year’s success was nothing short of a miracle and our love and immense gratitude goes out to every single one of you passionate souls that consistently make the impossible possible.

Very special thank yous to the following heroic leadership, without whom none of these dreams would have ever come true (A-Z)

@awilsonnnnn
@autumn.mari3
@caligold
@shaffnerdan
@druebleam
@emilyyvanness
@invertedburner
@ramblinjim
@its_just_jawden
@mariolui___
@mon0loc0

Of course, infinite thank yous to @burningman for their endless love and support and our beach front placement (even if we’re always way too busy to hit the beach)

The Byte Fam

we started at night time, then 3 hours went by like the blink of an eye and it was day. We saw friends from many serendipitous times and places. Some didn’t know we were at burning man, but found us by sound across the vast desert. The music that poured out of our fingers can never be replicated just the same. And that is the magic. Because it’s you and us, making music. That’s why we do this. With all the thick dust storms we were having, we didn’t know whether we would be able to make this happen…. Yet it cleared up just in time. And then when we finished playing, we watched a giant plume in the distance formulate and a new dust storm rolled in just in time for us to pack our gear away. Thank you to Xuza Artcar @xuzaartcar our dear friend Mike who built this art car and made this possible. @campbytethis ,, what a clever art piece! Thank you friends for dreaming and dancing with us, we love u 💜
