This was the video we showed at the 2024 Fall Benefit. In this video, you will hear from our original founder, Aana Lisa Whatley, and what her intentions were for starting a Christian Summer Camp and the Ripple she'd like to see it make.

Little did we know that in the hours following the Benefit, Camp Canaan would be severely damaged by Hurricane Helene.

Through it all, we knew the Lord would protect us and that this was all a part of his plan. Over the last 7 months, we have felt so much support from local churches, businesses, non-profits, and all our Canaan Family members! We are so thankful for the donations and volunteer hours all of you gave to Canaan. Because of your generosity, we were able to open the doors and host groups again!

Not only that, as you may have seen, we have begun construction on our new Conference Center! This will help reshape the future of Canaan in so many ways. The Conference Center will feature a large dining area, multiple breakout rooms, offices, meeting spaces, nurses' office/sleeping quarters as well as a store.

At this year's Fall Benefit we will continue to raise funds to complete our Conference Center! Please prayerfully consider joining us on October 17th, 2025. Keep an eye out for more details coming soon. by @campcanaan

We would like to thank Ryerson Brothers Construction and Gaulden Monuments for our new Ebenezer Stone. If you’ve never heard of this type of stone, Ebenezer is Hebrew for “stone of help”. They are a reminder of God’s helping hand. Jim Ryerson, founder of Ryerson Brothers Construction was at the Fireside Men’s Retreat earlier this year and heard about the many ways God has helped Camp Canaan. From there, he commissioned this Ebenezer stone from Gaulden Monuments and together they installed it near our Multi-Purpose Building. We can not thank these organizations enough for this constant reminder of God’s provision on our 100-acre island. by @campcanaan
