If we were to sell an optimistic 70 pints of Peroni a week, we’d come away with a profit of about £218 a month. On average, we pay talent £250 + travel and accommodation at around £100. When we host community groups, the staffing and running costs per night is around £72. Supporting community groups and paying talent fairly are integral to CAMP's ethos, but the numbers aren't stacking up. With your support, plus additional funding from other organisations, we want to bridge the gap to help keep CAMP open for many years to come. by @campmargate

Talented, beautiful performances paired with an amazing audience, a party into the night, and even poppers making an appearance, the last JC's Mic Drop at Camp was fabulous.

I'm proud to say that these images capture the acceptance, love, fun, and safety that this queer space provided to all of us. Plus, a big thank you to @fatherjcdrag for putting on an amazing lineup and being a brilliant event host.

And of course, lots of love for @campmargate 💚 taken in CAMP Margate by @campmargate

When a place means so much to so many people, the messages left on the walls become a piece of art within that place.

I personally left "Camp = Hope" early in the event, and by the end of the night, the walls had been covered in the community's love letter to Camp.

Camp's closing party was an absolute dream, to see the venue full for one last night meant so much.

Camp being a staple of Margate's nightlife has always brought a glimmer of hope amongst the constant threats to our rights, and our ability to simply exist within society. Margate won't be the same without it, but that hope has built over the four fantastic years we had Camp as a place to go. That hope will let us continue to thrive in Margate, and I'm so grateful I can continue to feel pride in who I am while I walk around town, all because that glimmer of hope was there.

Long live @campmargate 💚

Queer spaces mean hope, and queer spaces foster the most beautiful of art. I am heartbroken for Margate to lose another queer space, but we will continue to thrive. Camp gave us hope, and hope will carry us on to the next chapter. VIVE LE CAMP!
