We were overjoyed to see our former Fort Collins neighbors and friends today for a lovely lunch @labergerie_bonnieux. Kellay @kbuckelew and Jessie @jessie.buckelew are part of our France story as they moved to Paris before we moved to Provence and we encouraged each other every step of the way. What a joy to see their eight-year old daughter Evelyn and six-year old Ophelia. They now live outside of Atlanta. The other two photos were from their visit to Provence in 2016. Kellay at the top of Fort Buoux with their dachshunds Lily and Olive; and the six of us in beautiful Roussillon. Always say yes to getting together with old friends; make the effort. We just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with five lovely days in Paris. A highlight of the trip was a dinner cruise with @ducassesurseine. Absolute magic 💫 We also enjoyed Parisian rooftop views from perruche_paris (delicious Mediterranean dishes) and the two-Michelin-starred L’Oiseau Blanc @thepeninsulaparis. The meal and service were the top! Visiting the L’Orangerie museum @museeorangerie is always a treat and the Rousseau exposition was amazing. We topped the trip off with the best weather day of the trip relaxing at one of our favorite Parisian parks, the Place des Vosges. Paris Je t’aime. 💖 by @camy_en_provence

Celebrating my dear sister Cathy @cathypeteritter’s special birthday in Paris in May…along with her daughter @mollyritter @mollyshegoes, and my darling Sophie @the_eptons. We had a bit of a surprise after a fabulous lunch @lejulesverneparis…check it out! My nephew Sam @ritterforge and his wife Emelie came over from Sweden to give Cathy the biggest birthday surprise of all! The most delicious and incredible evening thanks to our children Sophie and Jordan @the_eptons. They gifted us with a delicious dinner at our home with the very talented Chef Zoé @provenceinmykitchen for our birthdays. They had experienced her cuisine while staying at the amazing @maisondefrederic in Uzès. Chef Zoé’s food was so light and delicious…we especially loved the chocolate mousse without any cream and potatoes dauphinois without cheese. Returned to Provence after an amazing 15-day Thai adventure! The energy of Bangkok was electric, and we can't wait to go back. Koh Samui's stunning beaches and turquoise waters captivated us, and the laid-back vibe was pure bliss. We're so grateful to the fantastic team at @vanabelle_kohsamui, a Marriott Luxury Collection property, for making our stay truly special. On Ischia, L’Isola Verde (the green island) lush and full of healing thermal waters, we spent this past week enjoying the end of summer. Ischia is located in the Bay of Naples and easily accessible by hydrofoil ferry. Southern Italy has a special beach culture “il dolce far niente” meaning “the sweetness of doing nothing.” We easily adapted. Besides soaking in the thermal waters and swimming in the Tyrrhenian Sea, we enjoyed a day sailing around the island with our skipper Vito from @westcoastischia. It was the highlight of our trip to see this stunning island by boat. Oh, and did I mention the incredible fresh fish, beautiful vegetables and lovely white wine? Ischia is the most populous Italian island after Sicily and Sardinia, but it didn’t feel crowded at all. The British-American poet W.H. Auden who lived on Ischia for 10 summers in the late 1940’s to late 1950’s wrote “though one cannot always remember why one has been happy, there is no forgetting that one was.” Arrivederci Ischia. ❤️🇮🇹❤️ taken in Ischia, Italy by @camy_en_provence

Very spontaneously, we decided to go to Arles to see the world-renowned @rencontresarles photography exposition. The venues are ancient churches, chapels, maisons and other spaces. We saw eight expositions and wished we could have seen more. Our favorites included the incredible Yves Saint Laurent and Photography exposition @luma_arles. We also were enchanted by Erica Lennard’s Women, Sisters in the Espace Von Gogh. But our favorite was the utterly moving Stendahl Syndrome, Nan Goldin’s 30 minute slide show juxtaposing Classical, Renaissance and Baroque paintings from all over the world with photos of Goldin’s friends and lovers recreating the paintings. The original music is dramatic and emotional and you leave the small chapel feeling a kind of transcendence from witnessing so much beauty. Today we entered the rarified world that is @ateliervime. Timeless, an oasis of calm and beauty. Our daughter Sophie @the_eptons and John @johnbcooney and I could barely speak…we didn’t want to break the spell. Their pop-up store is running through August 30. Such a joy to see our longtime friend Carole @nomadbotanicals in Provence! She and her friend Laura @landofverse are hosting a perfume retreat @bastide_des_lavandins in Le Thor close to @villedelislesurlasorgue. What a beautiful villa surrounded by lovely grounds and lavender fields.
