She said she would so she did: @jazmine_lowther , one of Canada’s top trail ultrarunners and top-ranked Canadian in the UTMB “crashed the party” when she clinched fifth place in her first race lap around Mont-Blanc. 🏔️

We caught up with Jaz shortly after her race to chat about how she’s feeling, what her race was like, and how she’s planning to recover. (A hot tub might be necessary) 😌

Kudos Jaz! It was a thrill to witness you execute your race plan and storm into the top ten! 👏💥 taken in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc by @canadiantrailrunning

Canada’s Remi Leroux 🇨🇦 finished on the podium in both races at the 2026 World Mountain Running Association (WMRA) Mountain Running World Cup final, hosted over the weekend by Défi des Couleurs at Quebec’s Mont-Sainte-Anne 🙌

It was the first time the World Cup had come to Canada, and the first time the final had been held outside Europe. The event doubled as the Canadian Mountain Running Championships and brought the World Cup season to a close with two races: a 5K uphill on Saturday and a roughly 16K Classic Up & Down on Sunday.

The uphill course climbed 770 metres to the summit, with no descent, while Sunday’s race had about 1,200 metres of climbing and the same amount of descent.

On Sunday, the inaugural Hustle at Pinehurst saw runners tackle distances from 12.5K to 50K at the Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area near Cambridge, Ont., as they navigated rolling hills and beautiful scenery in pursuit of course records 🙌

Straw Dog Racing, organizers of Sulphur Springs, hosted the event as a reimagined version of the beloved Run for the Toad trail race that ended in 2019. The day ended as a resounding success, with course records set at every distance and new winners who will have to return in 2027 to defend their titles.

University of Guelph student Isabella “Izzie” Sarbadhikari is preparing for an unusual graduation trip. In April, the fourth-year political science student will take on the Marathon des Sables (MDS) in Morocco with her father, Pro Sarbadhikari, covering roughly 250 km across the Sahara over six stages while raising money for War Child Canada 🙌

This will be Pro’s third attempt at the race. His first ended in a DNF, but he returned in 2025 and finished. “For me, there is something pretty special about returning to a race that once defeated me, then going back and finishing it, and now having the opportunity to take it on again alongside my daughter,” he says.

Run to support shelter dogs ❤️🐶

Steeltown Canicross, a Hamilton group for runners and their dogs, started with only a few teams on Saturday mornings. It has since grown into a volunteer-run community with more than 260 members, a shelter-dog program and an annual race. Organizers say more than 40 dog-and-runner teams now regularly show up for the group’s weekend runs.

The group also works with Hamilton Animal Services, taking shelter dogs for weekly runs and trail outings. More than 200 dogs have joined Steeltown members over the past two years, according to the registration page for Murphy’s Mission, the group’s annual November race.

September turns one weekend in ✨Golden, B.C.✨into one of the most anticipated race weekends in the Canadian trail-running calendar with the Golden Ultra by @transrockiesrunning .

The town of Golden, a three-hour drive west of Calgary, is the gateway to two of the race weekend’s three events—the first two races cover ground at @kickinghorsemtn . For friends, family, and spectators who have travelled to support runners, @townofgolden offers a host of activities for the whole group, while still being mindful of the taper required for a big mountain race. And those who stay in the area post-race might just be in time for a truly golden feast for the eyes. 👀 🍂

From relaxing hikes to adrenaline-pumping adventures and everything in between, @tourismgolden has you covered. 🙌
