📩 **DMing a Coach – 4 DOs & 4 DON’Ts** 🚫✅

If you're messaging a coach, your first DM could be your first impression. Make it count!

✅ **DO:**

1. Introduce yourself (name, grad year, position)
2. Share key info (height, weight, school, rep team, academics)
3. Be professional and polite (punctuation matters)
4. Personalize the message (know the coach and school)

❌ **DON’T:**

1. Just send a link with “check my film”
2. Spam random coaches without doing your research
3. Use slang or type like it’s a text to a friend
4. Forget your academics — marks matter too!
📲 Tag a teammate who needs to see this!

Understanding the Difference: Official vs. Unofficial On-Campus Visits

🔹 Official On-Campus Visit
A prospective student-athlete visits the university with financial support provided by the institution (e.g., travel, meals, accommodations).
These visits are limited to 50 per academic year (excluding blackout periods) and must be tracked through U SPORTS Central for football.

🔹 Unofficial On-Campus Visit
A prospective student-athlete visits the campus at their own expense, with no financial assistance from the institution.
The visit may include meetings with coaches, facility tours, or attending events, but remains self-funded.

📌 Both options offer valuable insight into the program—knowing the distinction ensures you're informed throughout the recruitment process.
