This post is not a flex, but a call to action to stay the course🙏🏾

I learned to stop praying away my storms.

If they exist, then they really are working for my good.

Anyone who knows me (like really knows me) knows I been a certified bookworm, always loved a challenge and would fixate on exactly what God revealed to me until I did my part for it to manifest.

Since I don’t share every detail of my life (and don’t plan to 🙃), you wouldn’t believe the depth of sacrifice and adversity that I CHOOSE to endure.

❤️Often times, it won’t make sense.

❤️The vision is weightier than the resources.

❤️ Some days the challenge of becoming who wasn’t available to you is so frustrating 😫

I earned my master’s during the pandemic, with a newborn 👶🏾, & loss my grandmother at the same time. Micro aggressions surfaced with my “advisor” -that turned me into a beast.

Spoiler alert‼️

These ceilings are indeed floors.

After talking myself out of pursuing a doctoral degree FOR YEARS because of my own insecurities, God placed some fearlessly, brilliant women (who happen to be entrepreneurs, wives and moms) in my personal and professional life to show me what’s achievable.

Received my acceptance letter a couple weeks ago and decided to document and share some pieces of my journey.

Not for “likes”, but because I believe faith comes by what we hear🙌🏾

No doubt that the right hearts and minds will see how God continues to move in my life and will decide to walk in their light as well. ❤️

When @bishme_cromartie calls I’m gonna answer every time💕

His debut collection back home in Baltimore was very sentimental. The energy in the room was full of art makers, art lovers and style enthusiasts ✨AND it was filmed for New York Fashion Week 🤗

To make matters more special, Bishme requested dance performances from fellow @twigs_baltimore alum so we had to deliver 🙌🏾

My practice as an actor will always be my first love but the fact that I get to do this for “work”- to help empower and transcend experiences for artists (especially my babies) TOP TIER 👌🏾🙌🏾

Each day I am in service as the Director of @twigs_baltimore, I’m pulled further away from comfort zone and submit to the unknown…

The saying is true “if you live by the applause, you’ll die by the boo’s”…

Shoutout to MY people who lift me up each day I answer my call and remind me that failure is not an option🥹

Grateful that I am a part of a network of builders in the foundation of artistic excellence for Baltimore’s children.

Thank you to our loyal supporters who not only believe but invest in sustainable arts education and global impact 🥹

Reflecting on 2024 and decide to share this moment✨

This is what it looks like to be broken, set back BUT set apart.

Selected to speak at The Baltimore School for the Arts Senior Inaugural. Almost 20 years ago I felt ashamed as a BSA graduate turned college drop out and teen mom.

But as I delivered my speech with my oldest son, now a BSA Stage Design & Production senior in the front row,I know for a fact that every desire we fathom coming to fruition is in our “Yes” to God’s will over our lives.

Here’s to activating our gifts to stir up the belief of what’s possible for others❤️

I really don’t post to these platforms cuz sis be tired after the work I do in real life BUT for the sake of inspiration, figured I’d share something positive.

Yesterday, I took 11 families to see MJ the Musical on Broadway as an extension to @twigs_baltimore called “TWIGS on the Road”.

This was a huge success following the surprise masterclass I coordinated for my dancers taught by THEE @_itsalannah back in the fall 🍁

I believe Baltimore’s families deserve out of box experiences that allow them to explore new levels of joy, connection and Arts and Culture.

This is my “why” and the I pray God continues to keep me in purpose on purpose.

This weekend was my first long distance business trip since having my baby boy😩

Fortunately, God has a way of bringing the right people and spaces into my path that makes being a creative entrepreneur, arts administrator and mom a little easier.

@_taraking_ was so welcoming and @findyourhilltop Downtown LA definitely has THE atmosphere for creative collaboration, productivity and my Almond Milk Latte was top tier, mkay?! ☕️✨💫
