POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

When I was 11, I remember logging into my family’s desktop computer and asking Jeeves “How do you work in music?” For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to work in the music industry. Everyone’s journey is different. For me, it took about four career pivots and a couple of extra degrees, but we’re here—and in VC at that! 👩🏽‍🚀🚀🎶

So, I’m excited to share that I’ve joined the Recording Academy’s 2026 New Member Class.

It’s an honor to be part of a community of music creators and professionals who are helping support, uplift, and advocate for the people who make and shape music. I’m grateful for the opportunity to use my voice, contribute to the Grammy Awards process, and be part of conversations that help move our industry forward.

Music is shaped by so many voices, genres, backgrounds, and perspectives, and I’m proud to add mine to the mix.

A little sailing, a little socializing, and a lot of Dramamine!

I’ve always had a complicated relationship with the water—I’ve feared it just as much as I’ve longed for it. That’s exactly why I decided to learn to sail a year ago.

From afternoons on the Hudson to evenings at the NY Yacht Club, I’ve loved exploring this community on and off the water.

It was a beautiful evening at the @hudsonsailing Sailing for Scholars Gala, an annual fundraiser that helps bring sailing education to underserved NYC public school students. 🥳 Through hands-on STEM learning and leadership development, students gain not only access to the water, but opportunities to build confidence, teamwork, and skills that extend far beyond it. The event also supports adaptive sailing programs that expand access to people of varying abilities.

Learning to sail has challenged me in ways I didn’t expect. I’m grateful to be part of a community working to make that same opportunity for growth and discovery accessible to more New Yorkers. 🌊⛵🗽✨ taken in New York Yacht Club by @candacethegreat

Did you know that everyone’s favorite original Broadway Dreamgirl, Moesha's mom, and Abbott Elementary teacher, Sheryl Lee Ralph, is Jamaican?! 🇯🇲

And hearing her celebrate Jamaica with the Prime Minister @andrewholnessjm in the room?!

A full-circle moment today: from loving music to working in the industry, to now advocating for its future alongside fellow Recording Academy members!

We spent Music Advocacy Day discussing the future of music, AI, and the importance of protecting the people whose creativity makes this industry possible.

There’s so much opportunity ahead for music and technology, and I’m excited to be part of the conversations shaping what comes next. 💫

Thank you, @brandicedaniel, for the invitation to the Harlem's Fashion Row 19th Annual Fashion Show & Style Awards! 🖤

Super grateful to be in the room. I didn’t fully know what to expect, but what I experienced was something so beautiful and powerful. It was such a special night celebrating Black fashion, creativity, and the people moving culture forward.

I’m looking forward to continuing to invest in and support this incredible community.

Twenty years of magic coming up! ✨

“A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.”

I had a near-drowning experience at 14 that left me with a deep fear of the open sea. Today, fear has become a hobby.

I’d like to thank me for believing in me 😂⛵ taken in New York Yacht Club by @candacethegreat
