Her Universe Fashion Show Audience Winner 2024 & #yarnsoka.

POSTS STORIES REELS

2024 will forever be the year when my nerdy yarn ideas were validated by winning the audience vote in the Her Universe Fashion Show. Will I ever stop posting about it? Nope! 😂

“Warrior Princess of Dune,” Audience-vote-winning design, knit/crocheted and modeled by me for the #heruniversefashionshow

Inspired by Dune 2, Princess Irulan, and Shai-HULUD (sandworms) 🐛

Shout out to my friend @poppy.appleton for recording my pre-walk video! (I was trying not to pass out while waiting for my turn to walk the runway so I totally didn’t hear any of the cheers!! But yay for my scalemail!!!) also yes that IS the infamous popcorn bucket hiding next to me 🤪 Thanks to Poppy for grabbing that for me too before they sold out haha.

If you’re going to be a princess, be an armor-wearing sandworm princess.

I just cannot get over these photos. I don’t look like me, this person is SERVING. I have never before looked so cool. Thank you so much @mark_edwards_photographer for capturing the shiny-ness!!!

This is just the first few pics too, stay tuned!!

Happy Halloween!! - featuring Shadow’s incredible side-eye. 🎃 by @candicedunlapmiller

I can make a sandworm. I mean, make a SHINY SANDWORM!! Can’t believe it’s been over 2 years since I made this Dune-inspired creation. “Warrior Princess of Dune” was a geek couture design that won the Audience Award at the 2024 Her Universe Fashion show. (And yes I’ll be posting a lot of it with part 3 coming out 🤣) @dunemovie #dune #sandworm #shaihulud

It’s almost time!! With the Clayface movie coming out Friday, I was reminded that I did a really cool project over the summer! I’m kind of doubting my local Regal theater will appreciate the hoodie, but dare me to wear it anyway? Any styling ideas? (PS The original hoodie is up on the Hot Topic site, this is not an ad but it’s really soft 🙃)

I’m really looking forward to this film, as a horror fan and a BTSS fan. More on that to come!

(Context ICYMI - This past summer, @freshfrippery Vivien Lee (2021 Audience Winner), @pigsinpajamas Rachel Petterson (2023 Judges Winner), and I (2024 Audience Winner) were invited to put together some amazing @dcofficial streetwear looks that were displayed in the lobby/photo op area of the Her Universe Fashion Show in San Diego! I did Clayface, Vivien - Superman, and Rachel - Lobo.)

Also cc: @jamesgunn bc you’re awesome and I know you’ll appreciate our vision ❤️ by @candicedunlapmiller

The Rhinebeck FOMO is real, but fall is popping here too! And I made up for it with some online yarn orders 🤣 Also finally no longer feel like poop with whatever stomach virus/food poisoning I had so that’s also winning. 👍 by @candicedunlapmiller

Oh nooooo I started another project when my other one isn’t done yet!!! Haaaaalp. This cord is kind of fun to work with I might make a teeny tiny version of this. pattern is the Lost Souls Dhawl. Which spooky pattern should I start next?? That ribcage vest?? by @candicedunlapmiller

Haven’t bought a Funko in a while but now I’m on a mission to complete my Dune set. Never in a million years did I think I’d see a toy of Alia of the Knife, covered in blood. Dreams do come true? 🤣 by @candicedunlapmiller
