It felt like 2017 took everything from me at once.

The marriage. My dog. My Abuela. The life I thought I was building.

It was also the year that saved me…I just couldn’t see it yet…

I’ve been using the @dermrays_global Revive Laser for an entire year, so I figured it was finally time for a proper review.

This is an at-home 1064nm laser designed to work deeper in the skin and stimulate collagen 〰️ aka exactly the kind of skincare I’m interested in at 45.

And it’s become a crucial support player in my skincare routine.

When I first started using the Revive, I followed the full 6-week protocol. And although I could see some changes, I really wanted to see what it could do after a year of consistent use.

Things I’ve noticed most over the past year:

✨ Softer-looking crow’s feet
✨ Firmer, more taut-feeling skin
✨ Some light fading of dark spots
✨ Overall… my skin just looks brighter and healthier.

My eye area is probably the biggest one for me. After having my daughter, my eye area really suffered, probably a mix of sleepless nights, body still recovering, feeling depleted from it all, and I had stopped getting botox around my crows feet after I found out I was pregnant (have not had botox since Feb of 2023).

But since incorporating the Revive laser into my routine, those lines have actually softened quite a bit.

And that’s really what I like about this kind of skincare: consistency and maintenance.

Is an at-home laser the same as having a laser treatment in a clinic? No. The results are more subtle, and it does take longer to see them.

But I can do this at home, it fits my budget, only takes me about 5–10 minutes, and once I finished the initial protocol, I moved to once-a-week maintenance. So I find it very easy to keep up with.

*One important note: the Revive isn’t currently available to purchase in the US, but it is still available in Canada, the UK and Europe.

The Revive was gifted to me, but if I had to replace it tomorrow, I would absolutely buy it myself.

If you’ve been curious about this device, leave your questions below. I’m happy to share what I’ve learned after a full year of using it. 🤍

Boring sh*t I do to feel sexy at 45...

Because taking care of myself makes me feel good, and feeling good is sexy.

🦶 Take care of my feet
Soft feet are sexy. I exfoliate my feet a few times a week, moisturize them daily after my shower. Before bed I use serums + thick creams and seal it all in with cotton socks at night.

✂️ Trim my nose hairs
Rogue nose hairs? Absolutely not. Nose trimmers are cheap, it takes 30 seconds. This is a non-negotiable.

🧴 Exfoliate my body
2–3x a week I use a chemical exfoliant all over my body, including my armpits. My skin stays so freaking soft. V sexy.

🦷 Take oral care seriously
There is nothing sexy about stinky breath. I floss every day (sometimes multiple times) and keep dental sticks in my purse because I cannot stand food stuck in my teeth. I also brush my tongue + roof of my mouth with toothpaste because I like my whole mouth feeling minty fresh.

🚶‍♀️ Get my steps on a walking pad
Is it as aesthetic as a hot woman walk outside? No. But I’m not always able to get out for a long walk, so my walking pad helps me get my steps in anyway.

📅 Make a skincare calendar
This is niche, but I map out my skincare routine, my actives and devices, 5–6 weeks ahead. Staying consistent always makes me feel like I’m taking care of myself.

🙏 Practice gratitude every day
My family. My home. Morning coffee. Flowers on a walk. A great meal. A good conversation. When I focus on the little things that are good, I feel good. And feeling good makes me feel sexy.

💧 Drink my water
I don’t think I need to elaborate. Staying hydrated is sexy.

For me, feeling sexy at 45 is about taking care of and prioritizing the little things that make me feel good in my own skin. taken in Cork by @candidaevette

At 45, I’m all about fresh, hydrated, dewy skin and a makeup base that still looks like my skin.

Yepoda helps me do that in 3 steps:

✨Depuff Eyespresso to refresh my “I have a toddler” under-eyes.

✨The Mist Have because hydrated skin is a must prep step before makeup.

✨The Dewy Day Cushion Foundation for fresh, buildable coverage that still lets my skin look like skin.

Three steps. Fresh skin. Minimal effort. Exactly my kind of makeup.

If you missesd the news, now you can pick up your Yepoda faves at Sephora 🤍

@yepoda is launching online at @sephora on 8/11 and in stores nationwide soon! 🤍✨

I’ve been using their products for over a year now, and the dewy day is one of the few foundations I can get behind. I switch between shades N3N and N2N, depending on the time of year. It really leaves the skin looking so gorgeous and glowy and added bonus 〰️ it has skincare benefits! And now you’ll be able to get it at Sephora. #yepodaxsephora #kbeauty #yepodapartner by @candidaevette

Makeup that feels and acts like skincare? Immediately yes. The Yepoda Look is such an easy everyday trio for a simple look that’s glossy + gorgeous. ✨
A buildable blush, a glowy highlighter serum, and a juicy lip oil. 10/10 my kind of low-fuss makeup vibe.

Lazy Makeup is a way of life. ✨

Here’s the full product breakdown…

SPF: MD SolarSciences Gleam + Glow.

Under eye brightener: Catrice (literally $4 and it works).

I’ve never been a powder person but this one converted me. 👌🏼

Setting spray: Caliray.

Brow gel: Benefit 24 Hour Brow Setter. Best clear brow gel, full stop.

Lashes: Shu Uemura lash curler.

Lip: Charlotte Tilbury liner in Pillow Talk, Cover Girl Lip Stain in Sugey Girl, elf Glow Reviver lip oil.

my skin is far from perfect. redness, broken capillaries, sensitivity, the occasional breakout at 45. and I’m still proud of it.

because what I want from my skin has completely shifted.

so here’s where I actually stand: 🤍

1. I’m not chasing youth. I’m chasing health. perfect skin was never a realistic goal. healthy skin, at every age,  absolutely is.

2. aging well is an active choice. it doesn’t happen by accident. it’s consistency, the right products, and showing up for your skin the same way you show up for everything else that matters.

3. accessible is enough. I don’t have access to every treatment or device. so I work with what I have and I’m constantly testing what’s actually achievable at home.

4. skincare is self-respect, not anti-aging. I’m not trying to turn back the clock. taking care of my skin is the same as taking care of my body and my mind. it’s just part of how I choose myself every day.

if you’ve been looking for skincare content that’s honest, realistic, and actually built for women who are aging on their own terms, you’re in the right place. 🖤 taken in Cork, Ireland by @candidaevette
