Every morning when I open my eyes, I’m filled with gratitude.

I’m grateful to CJ’s wife for eternity.
I’m grateful to be Trey and Avery’s mom.
I’m grateful to be chosen by God to shepherd so many women.

I’m grateful for the Much!!

And with my arms outstretched, I’m in great expectation for all that God has for me.

Thanksgiving is coming... and my Substack just couldn’t wait.
We all know there are certain people who, when they step into the kitchen, everybody else can sit down and LET THEM COOK!

When our family gets together, that’s my mom, aka Auntie Pam, aka Ma Pam! And best believe, everybody’s going back for seconds and trying to figure out if there’s enough left for a to-go plate!

In my Substack letter, The Sweet Spot, Part Two: When the Chef Is in the Kitchen, Let Him Cook, I’m sharing what God has been showing me about His ability to take all the ingredients of our lives. The messy, the complicated, the good, the beautiful, and even the things we wish we could leave out of the recipe.

And somehow, in His hands, it all comes together into something that exceeds what we can imagine!

I remember a time when I thought life was going great and my wife looked at me dead in the face and told me she wasn’t happy. While @etthehiphoppreacher and I had finally found our footing and began making the impact we set out to make on the world. My wife sat at a desk feeling as if she was wasting the Gifts that God had given to her. I honestly felt like I failed. We had money, notoriety, influence, but my wife wasn’t living in her purpose. So moments like these where she is operating her full anointing, leading women to Christ… smiling and laughing, mean the world to me. She has so much to share with the world and I’m her biggest cheerleader (and maybe a little coaching too lol) Husbands my one piece of advice to you would be to help your wife find her purpose asap!!! Not money, not things… but her purpose. by @candisquinney

Joy is beautiful. But shared joy feels different.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how much of joy is connected to who we get to share it with.

The people who see the good with us. Who celebrate it. Who help us slow down long enough to really receive it.

They don’t make you shrink your joy or rush past it. They simply make room for it.

And I’m learning that those people are part of the gift too.

So today, I’m giving thanks for the people I get to abide in joy with.

Words cannot express the joy overflowing in our hearts!
Yesterday, our babies made the decision to give their lives to Christ, and what makes this moment even more special is that the decision was completely their own.

Trey told us it was the first time he could remember crying happy tears. 🥹 That alone is a moment we’ll never forget.

And to make it even more meaningful, they were baptized by their mother, an incredible and powerful woman of God, @candisquinney.

As parents, there are so many things we pray for our children to experience and accomplish in this life—but nothing could make us more proud than watching them choose Christ for themselves.

Yesterday was a day our family will cherish forever. 🙏🏾

It may not look like it right now. It may not feel like it right now. But I believe there is still a winning outcome connected to what you’re walking through.

You may have to fight for it.
You may have to believe deeper than before.
You may have to wait longer than you wanted to.
You may have to show up a little differently.

But that does not mean the Win is not there.

Keep going. Keep trusting. Keep seeking God in the middle of it.

One thing our OG’s taught us is that time is the real wealth.

So we’ve tried our best not to rush through the seasons.

Not the trips. Not the dinners. Not the random laughs. Not the talks in the car. Not the moments when the kids just want to be around us. Not even the chaos.

One day, these two will be grown. They’ll have lives, families and traditions of their own. And yeah… we already know we’re going to miss this version of life.

But one thing we will NEVER have to say is, “I wish we would’ve enjoyed it more while we had it.”

Because we did.

We were here for it. Fully.

We made the memories. Took the trips. Had the conversations. Laughed until it hurt. Put the phones down. Stayed a little longer. Hugged a little tighter. And thanked God for all of it.

We know these days aren’t forever.

That’s exactly why we refuse to treat them like they are.
