Come to dance training in Los Angeles with me! 🇺🇸❤️‍🔥

Training in LA was definitely not what I expected. 😂

I took classes from Beginner to Advanced, met some incredible dancers and learned a LOT.

Some classes made me feel confident, others humbled me real quick. 😂 Especially Advanced showed me that my pick-up still has a long way to go. The speed is INSANE!

What surprised me most was how different the training felt from what I had imagined. Not necessarily better or worse than back home, just different.

My absolute highlights were the performance classes. I learned so much about dancing, but even more about myself.

I came with high expectations, had some amazing moments, some uncomfortable ones and definitely a few reality checks. 😂
Not every class was my favorite, but every experience taught me something. ❤️

Ein Jahr voller Technik, Korrekturen, „nochmal“, Muskelkater und ganz viel Lernen.

Wenn ich diese Videos nebeneinander sehe, merke ich erst, wie viel sich in einem Jahr verändern kann. Nicht nur in meiner Technik, sondern auch darin, wie ich mich bewege, wie ich Musik verstehe und wie ich mich selbst beim Tanzen sehe.

Danke Mel, für 102 Stunden Geduld, Wissen, Liebe und dafür, dass du mich immer wieder ein kleines Stück besser gemacht hast. 🥹🤍

But why is she dancing all the time? A year ago, becoming a professional dancer wasn’t even a dream of mine.

Because I didn’t dance. At all. 😂

I was 30, had zero dance experience and somehow decided: I want to become a professional dancer. And move to London… Sounds slightly insane when I say it like that.

But what started as a random decision turned into one of the biggest passions of my life.

This Reel is the story of why I started, why I decided to take this dream seriously and what happened when I went to London. I still have a very long way to go.

But sometimes I look at the girl who walked into her first dance class and think:

My first dance class almost became my last.

I walked into a “Beginner” class at 30, completely overwhelmed and intimidated, thinking maybe dancing just wasn’t for me.

But I came back. Again and again.

This Sunday class became one of my biggest challenges, and it took me an entire year to finally dance one of these choreographies.

Turns out, not giving up was worth it. 🤍

Me vs. Rihanna choreography

I don’t know what it is about Rihanna, but her music has been my personal dance enemy from day one. 😭

Every time a Rihanna song came on in class, my body suddenly forgot how to dance.

Her timing, her groove, the way you have to sit in the music instead of just hitting the moves… none of it came naturally to me.

And that’s exactly why I kept doing it.

Because sometimes the styles that feel the most uncomfortable are the ones that teach you the most.

So somewhere along the way, “I can’t dance Rihanna” turned into “Okay… I’m starting to get it.”
