I am posting as a member of AFSCME Local 1526, as a proud library worker, and an outraged life-long citizen of Boston:

We are reaching out to ask members and their families to consider contacting Boston City Councilors and the Boston Public Library Trustees and to attend the upcoming Trustees Meeting, scheduled for next Tuesday, May 19, 2026, 8:30am, to express your thoughts and concerns regarding the termination of the employment of our union president, Elissa Cadillic, after more than 32 years of dedicated service to the Boston Public Library.

To be clear, President Cadillic has not asked us to organize this effort or speak on her behalf. We are doing so because many of us know firsthand the kind of advocate, coworker, and union leader she has been throughout her career. Time and again, Elissa has stood beside workers in difficult moments, supported members and their families, and fought for fairness, dignity, and respect in the workplace. This is the same support she would offer any one of us.

We encourage members to respectfully share their perspectives with elected officials and Trustees about what President Cadillic’s decades of service, leadership, and commitment have meant to library workers and the broader community.

A board of Trustees Meeting is scheduled this Tuesday:
May 19, 2026, 8:30am, Annual Meeting*, Central Library, Rabb Hall

Thank you for your solidarity, and support. taken in Boston Public Library by @candycoloredcorpse

Hiya~

I'm Rae HoneyBun🐰 and since I was a kid, any character that was part animal was my favorite. I STILL don't get why anyone WOULDN'T wanna be an animal-person. 🐾

I've worked security at Anthro New England after my first time there because I wanted to help with the parade (which also meant I got to help and talk to and admire all the fursuiters 😍).

I'm great with clothes and props but I'd have NO IDEA where to even START with a fursuit (sewing-wise or purchase-wise 💸).

❗️MY POINT OF ALL OF THIS IS...❗️
I really want to win one of these so I can finally start fursuiting. Pastel pink is my favorite color so I'd love to win the pink one!!
I think I'd make her like....a foxbug or something cute like that. I'm just thinking a flower crown and pastels and I love the lil antennae~

Thank you so much for giving me a chance at one of these and -at the very least- shown me how to do it myself!

~Stay whimsical and I can't wait to see more Screech adventures~
