First New Curve Belgie Ultra + rolling out the door is this beautiful custom painted build. David asked Steve at the Candy Factory Paintworks for “a paint scheme that referenced the green duco and chrome trim of the 1970’s Alfasud he learnt to drive in” and well it’s an absolute stunner. The Belgie Ultra + builds on the classic endurance road design of the Belgie Ultra but with some extra features for randonneur style riding, hidden fender mounts, internal dynamo routing, clearance for 700x40 with fenders or up to 700x45 without. taken in Omafiets by @candyfactory_paintworks

This Kevin of Steel came into the workshop with structural damage to the down tube after a crash. Rather than write it off, the team cut out the damaged tube entirely and welded in a fresh replacement.

From there, it was off to the Candy Factory for prep and got resprayed in this hot pink finish, and now it's ready to get back on the trails!

Take a closer look at those paint jobs!

This year’s execution of 00Kev is more refined. It features transparent tints, rather than an opaque paint which accentuates the carbon weave, bringing additional depth and refinement to the overall finish. At first glance it appears to be simple and minimal, but as you look closer you notice the complexity of the materials on their own as well as combined. The depth of the clear coat acts as a magnifying glass, and as the tints are encased at different layers, the colours seem to shift as the light and viewing angle changes.

One of the bikes had to be LOUD, so the UpRock 32 got the full Candy Factory Paintworks treatment.

Taking a combination of the splatter style launched with the CarboKev and 00Kev, and the organic approach of some recent night-sky/galaxy experiments, this project dialled it up to see how a full frame could look. Built up over several layers, the paints are rubbed back, reapplied and repeated until an overall balance of colour and texture is achieved. It's then locked down with logos and clear coats until a nice flat final finish is reached. Some space-dust leaf flecks have been crumpled and blown into the clear coats for additional sparkle.
