I finally finished my skirt!!!!

Sew this shirt with me!🧵

(In pictures)

Supplies:
Pins (although I always end up not using them🫣)
Chalk (to sketch out pieces)
Scissors
Thread
Sewing machine
(& an iron if you’re being patient lol)

Using a shirt I like the fit of, I roughly trace out my pieces. No pattern, just creativity! I like this shirt, but my vision is something a bit more flowy and with longer sleeves (so I added where I saw fit)!

I have nothing against formal patterns, but I love free sewing! I think it’s so fun to design as you go and see how it turns out.
Most people don’t sew like this, but because this is my creative outlet I like to do it freely without following the rules haha
(obviously I use more professionalism when making something for somebody else, but if it’s for me I’m not picky at all!)

Time to sew it up!

there’s a bit more nuance to what I put on the slide, so if you want a tutorial let me know! Just didn’t want to put too many words on the photos.

Forgot to add that I also did a zigzag stitch along the edges of all of my pieces so that it won’t fray.

This is when it finally starts to look like a shirt!!

Again, didn’t give much detail to this so let me know if you want more info on how to do these gathering stitches!

What I made while my toddler was sleeping!🪡
