I’ve got new prints up on my store. all these photographs are now available in four sizes. this is work I made in a previous life that I’m always thinking about, holed up in a village in the himalayas, in the heart of solitude. the howling wilderness next to me and the fury of the night above, the stars thumb-tacked onto the velvet emptiness.

The beauty was inseparable from the loneliness. so many images stained with life seared into my mind. I’ll remember it all - black moths glimmering in the sunlight mindless to what’s at stake, my ears pressed against the forest floor listening to the rumble of the earth, being drunk with my friends looking at shooting stars tumbling out of the sky, rainbows cradling the descent of a day, or that afternoon when we were turning over rocks and found the shadow of god. I’ll remember the stream by my home, torn like a tear from the earth and I’ll remember burying your name there. I’ll remember lying in a field in the dark far away from everything familiar, desperate for a sign, for it all to add up to something. and how I would find the signs all the time, or that they would find me, a kid in search. We would sing songs when we were tired from the dancing, and we were loud and we felt like we were winning, and in that moment we were. we were.

All of it was a dream and yet I come with proof of my time, in these photographs.

There’s a lot more from these six years that I can’t wait to share but for now —

no AI, just years hiking alone in the wild and editing in the quiet of my room or with a few good songs under a clear blue sky. just the promise of a strange day as I walked through desert, lake, valley, moon, night. just a few friends spilled across haunted places I’ll spend a life trying to describe. just the waiting and the watching, the waking and the dreaming, the living and the wilting for no witness, no applause, and no proof other than this

I loved the nights the most. the moments came easy, we didn’t have to work for them, there was no unearthing to be done. there was simply a veil and when you slipped under it, you were with the lovers and the dreamers, you were with the kids in the rave, and in the smoke breaks by the exit door, you were coiled against the wall with only the rush of your life ahead.

The days held the news but we didn’t want it anyway - for the nights belonged to us, and we had the music by @canvasoul
