Qebo (@alex_retsis) is an Athens-based composer and sound designer whose work explores electronic music as a form of sonic sculpture. Drawing from contemporary electronic and electroacoustic traditions, his music is built from carefully shaped textures, fragmented melodies and rhythmic structures that move between density, abstraction and stillness.

A recurring theme in Qebo’s work is the relationship between human creativity and machines. Technology is not simply a production tool, but part of the creative process itself: a way of reshaping, disrupting and reorganising sound. Organic and synthetic materials often coexist, while natural and environmental recordings are transformed until their origins become blurred. This constant movement between the familiar and the artificial gives his music much of its character. His process combines recorded and synthesised sound with detailed editing, modulation and automated systems. Mathematical structures, cellular automata and algorithmic sequencing often play a role, but rather than determining the music in advance, these processes generate material that can then be shaped intuitively. Sound itself — its texture, movement and physical quality — often shapes the form of the work.

So many high points made this past month extra special. Performing at the Alternative Stage of the @greeknationalopera for the Latent Space workshop, opening for @ambassade__ at Ilion Plus alongside @metaman.ath & @irene_dendi and sharing the stage with @melodieblaison at @ket_athens
Traveling to Paris with @charakotsali’s The End of the Amusement Phase and an amazing crew and lastly, performing at a rave in the Parisian woods as a guest of the mighty @lil__ronin

◇ Two sets of improvisational, electronic and acoustic sound by French artist Mélodie Blaison and Echo Canyon (Dimitris Patsaros).

🔷 Breath, voice, listening, care, storytelling… If ecofeminism were a sound, it might be the sound of Mélodie Blaison's compositions, improvisations and soundscapes.
Born in 1992 in Avignon, she studied flute at the Conservatoire and graduated in 2016 from the École des Beaux-Arts in Nantes, before going on to pursue a Master's in Arts & Sound Creation at ENSA Bourges.

In recent years she has developed a body of work that combines flute, ceramic instruments, field recordings and electronic means, creating immersive sonic environments where composition and improvisation coexist.
Her second album, Avant le Rivage (2024, Wabi-Sabi Tapes), unfolds airy soundscapes by blending organic resonance with electronic layers.

At KET, on the occasion of her first concert in Greece, she presents a set combining improvisation and new material inspired by the writings of Adrienne Rich. Between memory, inner searching and transformation, she creates a quiet yet intense listening space.

She has presented her work in numerous European cities and currently lives in Brussels.

🔷 Submerged rhythms, low pressure, slow shifts: under the alias Echo Canyon, Athenian producer and sound artist Dimitris Patsaros combines elements of jungle, ambient, electro, dancehall, dub and krautrock in a deeply personal way.

He develops abstract yet profoundly physical dance structures, drawing on polyrhythm, field recordings and noise over an unstable, ever-shifting dance floor. His influences range from the tension of punk to the physical force of low frequencies and the possibilities of sound as raw material.

Starting out in Control Mode with some custom Instrument Racks I’ve recently built, exploring the unit’s MPE expressiveness.
Interesting artifacts emerge when playing right at the edges between pads, where their sensing zones overlap and touch data begins to cross triger. by @canyonair
