To my mini-me, my Mims… 17 today.

Always in a hurry, ever since the day you decided to make your grand entrance a little earlier than expected. Always wanting to do things now, always chasing the next thing, and never one to sit still for too long.

You are the one who is always on my mind, the one who makes my world a more wonderful place simply by being in it. I honestly cannot imagine my life without you in it.

I look at everything you juggle: school, training five days a week, game days, coaching, friends, family and trying to find a little time for yourself. I know it is not always easy, and sometimes it must all feel overwhelming. Yet, somehow, you keep going, keep pushing and keep working towards the things that matter to you. And that makes me incredibly proud.

I know there are moments when you doubt yourself, when things do not go as planned, or when you wonder whether you are doing enough. I always tell you the same thing: if only you could see yourself through my eyes, you would understand just how amazing you are and how much you have already achieved.

I wish I could give you that perspective, even just for a moment, so you could see the strength, determination, kindness and beautiful heart that I see every single day. I will always be here to guide you when you need me, to pick you up when things get tough, and to give you the space to fight your own battles and find your own way.

No matter how old you get, you will always be my little girl, my Mims, my mini-me. And no matter where life takes you, never forget that you have a dad who believes in you more than you will ever know.

Enjoy your birthday weekend, make memories, laugh, have fun and let yourself be spoiled a little. You deserve it all.

But don’t forget… MONDAY TRAINING!

Yesterday, we walked with our friend @consiglio.damato one last time. It was a heavy, difficult and deeply emotional final walk.

What I witnessed yesterday during the funeral was love, care, countless efforts to make everything perfect (Sara D'Amato), and, above all, the pain from the lack if your presence.

Whether you believe in an afterlife or not, one thing is certain: we should make the very best of the time we have here. We should strive to leave a positive mark in whatever we do, whoever we meet, and wherever life takes us. It is not always easy, but it is achievable.

I only hope that your calm, cool and relaxed nature is what stays with me the most, I definitely need more of that in my own life.

We will carry you with us and remember you in the little moments, the unexpected reminders, and the stories we’ll continue to tell.

Season 2025/2026 – over and out.

Being part of the Senior Women’s Team at @starlitesbc has been both a privilege and a source of immense pride. After the events of the previous season, it was never something I expected or actively sought, which made the opportunity all the more special.

This group of women is truly remarkable. There was no need for rhetoric, manipulation, or finding scapegoats, even when circumstances may have justified it. Instead, they simply put their heads down, stayed united, trusted one another, and played for each other. While the season didn’t end with the success we all believed we were capable of achieving, I have no doubt that this team was worthy of more than a single trophy.

To Coach @christinacurmi and @miraclemann10 thank you. It was a genuine pleasure to share this journey alongside you. The long days, endless planning, video sessions, training schedules, and preparation were often exhausting, but they were equally rewarding. Looking back, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

What made the experience truly special was the camaraderie, friendship, and shared purpose. In a sporting environment where negativity, personal agendas, and selfish interests can sometimes take centre stage, it was refreshing to be surrounded by people focused solely on doing what was best for the club and the team. That honesty and commitment made every challenge worthwhile.

To Starlites, thank you for the opportunity. To every player, thank you for your trust, dedication, and resilience. To everyone who supported us throughout the season, thank you for being part of the journey. And to my incredibly understanding wife, @chantelle.cassar.saguna, an extra special thank you for your patience, support, and encouragement every step of the way.

Now, as one chapter closes, we look ahead with gratitude and anticipation.

Wow, the week passed by in the blink of an eye, doing what we love most — #basketball 🏀

Feeling truly grateful for this incredible experience and for everyone who made it possible. A great initiative by @starlitesbc Naxxar Basketball Club for creating a platform of learning through an Erasmus+ project, together with @eupa.malta Malta - Erasmus+ & European Solidarity Corps .

A huge thank you also goes to @ubc_ms Munster for sharing their insights, their way of doing things, their passion for the game, and for opening their training sessions to us. Experiences like these remind us that learning never stops and that basketball goes far beyond the court — it’s about people, values, and growing together.

Grateful for the memories, the lessons, and the connections made along the way.

Last night our home (@chantelle.cassar.saguna) was once again filled with laughter, noise, and festive spirit as we hosted our Secret Santa for the @starlitesbc Naxxar Basketball U16 & U19 Ladies White teams 🤍

This time of year always gets me thinking, not just about the faces around the table today, but also about all the faces/teams that have passed through this house in years gone by. Different moments, different memories, all leaving their mark.

While the faces may change, one thing never does: everything I do, I do with heart. That’s how it has always been, and that’s how it will continue to be.

Grateful for the trust, the energy, and the joy these teams bring. Thank you for making my home feel alive (and noisy) and reminding me why these moments matter so much.

Here’s to tradition, growth, and keeping heart at the centre of everything we do ❤️🎅🎁
