Capital Athletics is saddened to learn of the unexpected passing of former offensive lineman Jeff Woltz '02. Jeff was a beloved member of the CU football program, starting all 40 games in his college career, and he had since turned his passion for the game to coaching and educating the next generation. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jeff's family and all those who knew and loved him.

25 years of Comet Pride. 💜

Last night, we celebrated 25 years of the Capital Center and marked the occasion with the official unveiling of the new Betty A. Byelene Indoor Track.

From alumni reconnecting and coming together to celebrating the next chapter of Capital University Athletics, the evening was a reminder of just how many memories have been made within these walls over the past 25 years. The newly reinstated Capital University Pep Band made its first performance, bringing even more energy to an already unforgettable night.

A special thank you to Steve Wachtman ’85, TLS ’92, a member of the Board of Trustees, and the Wachtman family for their generous support of the Pep Band; to Cheryl (Pottorf) Welsh ’73, wife of Roger Welsh, who served as Capital’s Athletic Director during the construction of the Capital Center; and to their families for joining us and helping make this milestone celebration so meaningful.

Here’s to another 25 years of Pride in the Purple. taken in The Capital Center, Capital University by @capital_alumni
