We join the literary world in mourning today following the sad news of the death of Jeffrey Archer.

We had the great pleasure of hosting Lord Archer earlier this year at Capital Crime, where he spoke to a large crowd of transfixed readers. A true showman, a passionate storyteller and a fierce champion of books, he had an extraordinary ability to captivate an audience and bring stories to life.

It was a privilege to welcome him to Capital Crime, and we are deeply saddened by his passing.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, colleagues and readers at this difficult time. by @capitalcrime1

27 years ago today, @GoldsboroBooks began.

I’m not entirely sure where those 27 years have gone, although looking back over our photographs, quite a lot happened.

It started with a love of signed first editions and the belief that other people might love beautiful, signed books as much as we did.

We found Cecil Court. We’ve had different shops, thousands of authors have visited us. We’ve covered and packed hundreds of thousands of books. London, Brighton, and now Kuala Lumpur. We’ve had some extraordinary adventures and probably crushed several million cardboard boxes. We’ve drunk a few bottles of champagne.

And we’re still here. Still independent. Still growing. Still excited by books in all genres.

To everyone who has worked with us, worked for us, bought a book from us, signed books for us, queued at a signing, joined one of our memberships, recommended us to a friend or simply cheered us on, thank you.

Goldsboro is 27.

Want to wish us a happy birthday?

Buy a book.

We’ve got quite a few. 😆
