🥄 🌕 🥄 🌕 🥄 🌕 🥄 🌕 🥄 🌕Have you had tangyuan today? Today is the 15th day of the Chinese New Year — the Lantern Festival — when families gather, share tangyuan(汤圆), the food that represents reunion and wholeness, and welcome the first full moon of the year.Sharing these images from our OO: Ladle Me Workshop feels especially meaningful today. In the workshop, we painted ladles as talismans. Everyday kitchen tools transformed into objects of care, wish, and protection. The ladle, something that serves and nourishes, became a symbol of the hands that feed us, the stories carried through food, and the rituals of gathering.Huge thanks to🏠 @museumofthehome for holding the space📷 @stenlinks for capturing these beautiful moments. ✨Wishing you sweetness, warmth, and togetherness under this full moon.🌕 by @capri_socialdesign

OO: LADLE ME — Year of the Fire Horse 🔥The ladle didn’t begin in the kitchen. It first fed horses and livestock — a tool of labour, not decoration. This Chinese New Year gathering looks back to that origin. Drawing from Shehuo 社火 (community fire) traditions from Northwest China, the ladle is reworked as a practical object with shared meaning, shaped by labour, food, and time spent together.Participants will make their own ladles while being served fermented rice soup with Tangyuan 汤圆, traditionally eaten during moments of reunion and renewal.Led by Sue Man and Capri Jiang.Making, eating, talking — reflecting on how “home” is built through what we do together.🗓️ Saturday 14 Feb, 2-4pm.📍 Museum of the Home, 136 Kingsland Rd, London E2 8EA @museumofthehome 🎟 Book via Ticket Tailor🔗 Link in biohttps://buytickets.at/ooo1/2033228 by @capri_socialdesign

BRENT BIENNIAL 2025:FIRE RITUAL LAUNCH PROGRAMME🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🫧🫧O: LADLE ME🥄🥄The ladle, often a quiet presence in the domestic sphere, is a vessel of nourishment and care—a simple tool that bridges hands, hearts, and histories. Inspired by the Shehuo 社火 (Community Fire🔥) traditions of Northwest China, this ceremony transforms the ladle into a mask of meaning, a talisman imbued with protection, memory, and connection.Presented by Sue Man and Capri Jiang, artists rooted in hospitality and food heritage, this event explores food as both medium and language in artistic expression. Through their practice, fire, food, and storytelling merge—transforming the simple act of feeding into a shared ritual of remembrance, care, and healing. Through it, we gather to honour what sustains us and to share the warmth of being together, creating a moment where everyday objects and gestures become symbols of community and healing. This event becomes an alchemical exchange, where the act of sharing food evolves into a ritual of protection and transformation. Talismans emerge through storytelling, nourishment, and the shared experience of connection. 📍 @metrolandcultures 📅 FRIDAY 26 SEPT 2025⏰ 13:00-16:00 🎟️ Booking via @metrolandcultures website + our bios.Special thanks to:@grancomkitchen @westonparkfarms ❤️‍🔥🥬🥒🫜❤️‍🔥 by @capri_socialdesign

✂️ Unravelling Regeneration: Stories of a Community by Capri Jiang (2024–25)Stitch threads, fabric, canvas Supported by Granville Community KitchenAs South Kilburn undergoes decades of redevelopment, artist Capri Jiang maps a landscape of memory, loss, and resistance through stitch. In Unravelling Regeneration, residents’ stories are carefully sewn into fabric — creating a living archive of what once was, and what still matters. This collective artwork becomes a slow, tactile gesture of care and remembrance in a neighbourhood shaped by displacement, uncertainty, and transformation. Who is regeneration for? What gets preserved, and what disappears?Capri’s participatory practice addresses food justice, gentrification, and social equity — using art and design as tools for community-led storytelling.🧵 Stitching as resistance, memory, and care.📍 On view in Jadughar: House of Magic | Until 4 Sept #CapriJiang #UnravellingRegeneration #Jadughar #PaprikaCollective #CommunityArt #StitchingStories #SouthKilburn #RegenerationAndLoss #HouseOfMagic #Museopathy by @capri_socialdesign

GCK is hosting our second film and food night of the year..The Ants & The GrasshopperDirector: Raj Patel & Zak Piper13th June6pm - Food7pm Film StartsFree entryThe Salvation Army (Kilburn), 55 Chichester Road, NW6 5QWBook a place through the link in our Bio. Contact: info@granvillecommunitykitchen.org.uk for more info.About the Film:Anita Chitaya has a gift; she can help bring abundant food from dead soil, she can make men fight for gender equality, and she can end child hunger in her village. Now, to save her home from extreme weather, she faces her greatest challenge: persuading Americans that climate change is real. Traveling from Malawi to California to the White House, she meets climate skeptics and despairing farmers. Her journey takes her across all the divisions shaping the US, from the rural-urban divide, to schisms of race, class and gender, to the thinking that allows Americans to believe we live on a different planet from everyone else. It will take all her skill and experience to persuade us that we’re all in this together. by @capri_socialdesign

✨✨Huge thanks to The American School in London @asinlondon for inviting me to share the stories of the South Kilburn community and GCK @grancomkitchen - their resilience, collective actions, and fight against the Master Regeneration Programme with young students. It was an absolute honor to meet and host so many friends who are passionate about community building and the fact of gentrification, making for a truly warm and inspiring Thursday night. 💛I’m especially grateful to the incredible teachers at ASL, who recognise that community contributions and protests should be part of young people’s education, helping them understand what’s happening around them. ASL has been a supportive partner, collaborating with GCK and the South Kilburn community for the past eight years. 🙌Regeneration Programmes continue to affect community spirit and squeeze communal spaces across London’s boroughs. This exhibition is on tour. If you know of a space open to showcasing South Kilburn’s real stories and the resilience of its people, PLEASE REACH OUT! 🔥🔥🔥Let’s keep these voices heard. 📢📢📢 by @capri_socialdesign
