Just a high school dropout, and I’m loving this path I am on. After dropping out, I had a lot of time to figure out where I wanted my life to go. I went through a lot to get to where I am today, and I definitely don’t look like what I’ve been through.

This honor truly means the world to me. Thank you to On Point for College for honoring me and helping a non-traditional student like me thrive in a world that isn’t always so kind to non-traditional students. You made sure I had the tools and support I needed to navigate my college journey.

And now here I am 🥲May 2026, about to graduate as a master’s degree student and getting the recognition I worked so hard for.

✨ Meet Caprice Hibbler, our #Syracuse Trailblazer for December, whose beautiful story inspired us deeply as we close out the year.

Caprice is the program manager for @theartsprojectsyracuse, a nonprofit which brings after-school art education to local youth at @bgcsyracuse and @ywcasyr.

Caprice dropped out of high school, but found the motivation to try again during the pandemic in 2020. “God just spoke to me and was like, ‘Get up, girl, it’s time,’” she said.

She earned her associate's degree at OCC and her bachelor's degree at SU. Now, she's pursuing her master's degree at @newhousesu and building a career rooted in giving back to her community.
