A year ago today I got to experience the coolest thing I’ve ever seen offshore! Getting in the water with a great white had been a dream my whole life, got lucky enough to see 3 at the same time, right in my home waters. taken in Fort Myers, Florida by @capt.carterbrown

Listen to these two mother bears fight over prime fishing grounds! Before most bear fights turn physical, they try to hash things out verbally. Bears do everything they can to avoid a real fight, but sometimes that’s the only way to settle things! by @capt.carterbrown

Watching these first year brown bear cubs learn to hunt never gets old! These bears learn how to catch salmon by watching their mother. This young bear might have bit off more than he can chew! #fatbearweek by @capt.carterbrown

Immensely grateful for my first Alaskan summer. I greatly underestimated the impact Alaska would have on me, it’s true when they say a summer here changes you. Thank you to everyone who made this summer so special. Already looking forward to getting back next year!

Get with me if you’re interested in coming to experience all Alaska has to offer next season! by @capt.carterbrown

Check out this snorkeling brown bear! These bears can actually “smell” dead salmon underwater and some have learned to dive underwater for them! Diving is a learned trait that not all family groups display. I’ve seen them hold their breath up to 30 seconds! by @capt.carterbrown

I caught just the end of this epic territorial dispute between a mother brown bear and an adolescent male! These bears were fighting over prime fishing grounds, the young male won this time but the mother and cubs didn’t go far! by @capt.carterbrown

Some days it’s that easy! Alaskan Dolly Varden are one of my favorite species to target up here and when the bite is on, it’s on! These fish aggregate around spawning sockeye salmon and eat their eggs as they spawn, because of that they’re super concentrated around areas of salmon spawning! by @capt.carterbrown

This Coho salmon has seen better days! He became dinner for a juvenile Bald Eagle. It takes a Bald Eagle up to 5 years to get their full adult plumage, this bird was probably born this year! by @capt.carterbrown
