We let the tarpon win one of the mornings to go to get Bob’s grandson Milo his first fish. By far my favorite morning of the season, no doubt. Our Kelly family home where Redfish pass exists today. No name hurricane of 1921. Can only imagine what that was like but also dreaming about what the tarpon fishing was like too. #borninthewrongdecade* In October 1921, a powerful hurricane struck Southwest Florida.* At the time, storms weren’t given names, so it’s just known by the year/location.* The storm surge and wave action literally split one continuous barrier island into two—creating: * Sanibel Island (south) * Captiva Island (north)* The cut that formed between them became Redfish Pass. by @captlacey
