A carousel of the coolest places to wander: colourful shirts, a royal blue carpet chez @rubirosas_paris “Nuit sans Lune” perfume @pouchardparis
The Hôtel de Maisons, still spellbinding year after year, and the Paris home of @designmiami
@lhotel_paris that makes us rethink the Tower of Babel. And of course the palm trees of the Luxembourg Gardens and the incandescent glow of the Seine.

The fashion capital has its well-known addresses. And then there are the ones only whispered between those in the know: never advertised, rarely explained, and all the better for it.

The Place London is not a shop in the ordinary sense of the word. It is a curation. A discerning edit of today’s designers, composed the way one builds a wardrobe worth keeping, with rigour, with taste, and absolutely no compromise. (Compromise was considered once. It didn’t suit the place.)

One does not come here looking for the ordinary. The rare piece has a rather inconvenient habit of finding you first.

8 rue de l’Odéon, Paris VI
Which designer would you like to discover here?

The sea urchin’s shell was never really a shell to me. It’s a jewel in its own right. Within the marine world, its beauty comes from a flawless architecture, and its lines suggest natural settings, as though the sea had learned the jeweler’s art before we did.

@lea_et_ronan_drouadaine carries the same instinct forward, three years running. Ronan Drouadaine brings back what the sea shapes: lobster and crab carapaces, oyster shells... His daughter Léa, trained as a wood sculptor at École Boulle, then applies gold leaf by brush. She draws nothing new. She reveals a setting the ocean had already conceived.

@villasanta_lucia_marseille In the Roucas-Blanc, above Marseille, a nineteenth-century house keeps the signature of a single hand: Gaspard Gardini, who between 1892 and 1894 carved grottoes, cascades, and a theatre of stone into its terraced garden rocaille work now protected as a Historic Monument.

Its owner, a maritime lawyer who spent a lifetime crossing seas, chose not to alter what he inherited. He brought the world home instead Moroccan lamps, Indian tin doors, Turkish mosaics, Syrian furniture and let each piece settle into the house as if it had always belonged there. Nothing imposed. Everything absorbed, the way water finds its way into stone. Today, his children live within these walls, carrying that story forward. taken in Roucas Blanc by @capture.rivegauche

Playground.

On the chessboard of palettes, she has mastered the art of chromatic composition to perfection and draws us into her Bleu Broadway, a deep, theatrical blue with all the drama of the stage, and every bit the playful spirit.

Grey-pink granite, cleanly cut, and hydrangeas spilling over in blue, softening the stone’s severity.
Straight onto the mood board, where bow-windows, turrets, and borrowed half-timbering all converge, a whole Anglo-Victorian set piece resting on the Côte d’Émeraude.

The seaweed does Dubuffet without knowing it that black-green refusing to behave, that thick, indestructible texture, taking up all the space instead of trying to look nice. A Jardin de fouille roucoule, low-tide edition.

Et soudain le sol trembla
Starck | Drimmer 1981

It makes no pretence. Propped against the wall, unable to stand on its own, it turns the inscription engraved around its rim into an excuse for its condition. Objects, too, know how to toy with us.

High jewellery is lovely. Being the reason the jewellery exists is rather better.

Throughout their life together, Calder made jewellery for Louisa for her coats, her capes, the ordinary architecture of her days. The same questions remained: line, balance, movement. Only the scale of encounter changed. What occupied space in his sculpture was brought into the private orbit of the body. Perhaps this was not a lesser form of his art, but its most intimate condition.
