How do you light a 6.5-metre image on a huge, curved, moving set, without a single visible shadow?🌊

For @scottishopera's The Great Wave, lighting designer @yuka.hisamatsu used Capture to test lighting feasibility on a massive scenic structure, verify projection angles months before tech, and even run real-time visualisation alongside the console during rehearsals.

The EU Cyber Resilience Act comes into full force in December 2027 and it’s about to make legacy lighting protocols like Streaming ACN and Art-Net unusable in some applications.

We sat down with Wayne Howell, CEO of Singularity, to talk about Sig-Net, the new protocol built to solve this.

Beyond meeting the new security requirements, Sig-Net also improves multicast addressing to prevent network switch overload, supports more universes, and fixes the overscaling issues Art-Net runs into on large shows with multiple controllers.

The response so far: two trade associations and 30+ major manufacturers already on board and growing.

Capture 2027 will support Sig-Net at release 🌐
