4th at my first commonwealth games! Four years ago when I watched the games from home I would’ve dreamed of a result like this 💗

Very grateful for the people who came to support me trackside and those at home who made it possible and got up early to watch 🥲

To provide a little context to my post race interview, unfortunately I took a stumble early on in the water jump. I fought on as hard a I could but fell short of my expectations on the night.

Leaving another championship feeling like I had more to give is hard, especially after having a similar experience last year. Those around me now how tough this year has been, not having a contract makes me question whether I do belong on this stage but while I feel I have something to give I know I want to keep showing up.

I wouldn’t be here without the financial support I have received, which has made this season possible and allowed me to take the time away from work to fully commit to my preparation. I know I did everything I could to prepare for this race and give myself the best chance @project32au @shyusocks 🫶🏻

Cara Feain-Ryan x SHYU

Australian runner @carafeainryan signs with SHYU for the 2026 season as part of our ‘𝗙𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝘆 𝗦𝗛𝗬𝗨’ program.

Cara is an Australian 3000m steeplechaser who has won national titles and international gold, including the 2023 World University Games in Chengdu, and has represented Australia at multiple World Championships and the Paris 2024 Olympics, where she set a personal best in the steeplechase. Her progression on the world stage has seen her time drop to around 9:22.01, placing her among Australia’s top performers.

Cara’s 2026 is set with targeting the Australian Nationals in April, chasing Diamond League steeplechase and top international meets, and representing Australia at the Commonwealth Games in July.

Thrilled to have you on the team, Cara.
