✨ Let me re-introduce myself… ✨

Hi, I’m Cara — an Irish makeup artist based in Newcastle, with over 15 years of experience in the makeup industry.

My journey in makeup has taken me to so many different places and introduced me to so many amazing people. From working on various makeup counters, learning from incredibly talented artists and building lifelong relationships with colleagues and customers, to travelling and working between Ireland, the UK and Australia — it’s been a pretty amazing journey so far.

And one thing that has always stayed the same is my love for makeup and sharing that passion with others. 🤎

I feel so lucky that wherever I am in the world, my clients have always kept me so busy and continued to support me.

Bridal makeup is a huge love of mine, but I also absolutely LOVE getting creative with makeup. (If you’ve seen my Halloween looks you’ll understand)

If you’re wanting to book in with me, I take appointments here in Newcastle, as well as group bookings when I’m back home in Cork, Ireland.

Whether you’re a bride-to-be, getting ready for an occasion, looking for a creative makeup look or simply fancy being pampered and having some fun with makeup — I’d love to have you in my chair.

✨ PART ONE ✨

Here are some of my go-to tips and techniques for creating a polished look

Brows 🤎
I like to start with a brow pencil to create fine, hair-like strokes, adding colour, shape and dimension while still keeping the brows looking natural.

I then set everything in place with a clear brow gel. Depending on the client, I may also use a tinted brow mascara if they want to add a little more depth and definition.

To finish the brows, I love to carve underneath with concealer. This not only gives the brows a clean, crisp finish, but also creates the perfect base for your eyeshadow.

Eyeshadow 🤎
One of my favourite little hacks is using tape to create a lifted, winged-out effect quickly and easily.

I start with my transition shade using a large, fluffy brush, concentrating the colour on the outer corner of the eye and gradually blending it inwards towards the tear duct. The placement can be adjusted depending on the client’s eye shape and the overall look we’re trying to achieve.

As I build the depth, I switch to smaller, more precise eyeshadow brushes when working with deeper shades. This gives me much more control and allows me to gradually build the intensity without losing the blend.

I absolutely love the formula of the @shadesoflondon eyeshadow palettes — not only their matte shades, but their shimmers too! 🤎

I like to add a touch of sparkle to the areas where I haven’t concentrated as much product. This is a great technique for creating the illusion of bigger, more open eyes, as it naturally draws attention towards the inner part of the eye.

One of the most important steps is making sure the false lash is properly bonded to your natural lashes. This eliminates any gaps between the two and helps create a much more seamless, natural-looking finish.
