Vessel is available now on all platforms. The comprehensive new LP from CARBIKE showcases a deft combination of soul-searching lyricism and textured electronic swag.

Five years since his last full-length release, the Chinese-Korean American artist delivers a versatile and eclectic update to the Gum Studio catalog. Songs like timesup! w/ wev embody a dance floor sensibility tempered in the LA underground, whereas Shadow and Somewhere Else offer stylish verisimilitude from opposite ends of a spectrum containing punky outbursts and emotional ballads.

My album Vessel dropped on 5/8/26. I started it around 2022 and had no idea it would come out 4 years later. I came into it with no strict theme or structure in mind. I wanted to do the opposite of my last record and let the music live and breathe on its own and reveal those answers when they were ready.

Thank you to @christianykim for being my partner in crime throughout this whole process. Translating my vague and unspecific idea of “blue cover” to directing my videos and even being both my DJ and guitarist for shows. Grateful for @worldwidewev and EldiaNYC for welcoming me as a guest into their world and challenging me to become a better songwriter and vocalist. Hearing our songs reach British and Japanese radio stations made me believe in this a lot more. Shoutout to @kazpsycho100 for taking me on tour for my first time and letting me test these songs for new ears. Big thanks to @00junm and @harmonnnnnn for cooking hundreds of ideas with me and frankly the album wouldn’t have been possible without them. And most importantly my love @hamipickle for hearing endless drafts and renditions and being my muse through it all.

Thanks for listening ✌️ by @carbike000

On May 8th, Gum Studio will deliver a new LP from CARBIKE, five years since his last full-length release. Vessel is a definitive new work that fuses indie sensibilities with an electronic undercurrent equal parts danceable and gritty.

The music video for “Oxygen” premieres on May 1st. Videographer Christian Y Kim uses TouchDesigner to create a striking red motif evocative of the album’s mix of introspective lyrics, club ready drums, and punk attitude.
