It all started in Brooklyn.

One day before another trip around the sun, this one felt like the right post. A long way from where I started, with a lot of miles, lessons, changes and chapters in between.

The car has changed a lot too, and somehow this build has become part of that story. Still evolving, still learning, still building, and definitely still never satisfied.

@inhouseperformance strut tower braces.
Stronger than the factory pieces.
Cleaner than the factory pieces.

The OEM bars do the job, but these provide noticeably more rigidity up front and eliminate the flex you can actually feel when pushing the car.

And let’s be honest…
they look a whole lot better doing it.

N55 fuel system Part 2: high pressure and direct injectors.

Part 1 followed the fuel from the tank to the HPFP. This time we're following it through the pump and rail, then into the cylinder; with more detail on what the injectors actually do.

Inside these 20 slides:
• Continental vs. Bosch HPFP identification.
• Requested vs. actual rail pressure
• Injector internals, opening/holding/closing and PWM explained.
• EU5/EU6, index revisions, part numbers and adjustment codes.
• Injector coding vs. performance tuning • Electrical faults, delivery problems, leakage and installation checks.
• N20, original N63 and N63TU images and scoped references.

A rail-pressure reading doesn't tell the whole injector story. Match the measurements to the complaint, check ignition and cylinder condition, and follow the BMW test plan before buying parts.

The upgrade options have their own seven-slide companion so there's room to explain both subjects. That guide connects HPFPs, larger DI injectors, added port injection and low-pressure upgrades.

Save both fuel-system parts and the upgrade guide. Drop your code and when it happens: cold start, hot idle or under load.

BMW and manufacturer references are on the slides. Part numbers are scoped examples; verify the current VIN-specific selection before ordering.

Every build starts with a dream.

It's not always about how fast you get there, but the passion, patience, and lessons learned along the way. My BMW F10 is still a work in progress, and I'm enjoying watching the vision slowly come to life.

Still a lot more to do, but sometimes you have to appreciate how far you've already come.

Between work, life, and everything else, I don't always get as much time as I'd like to spend on the F10. But when I do, I enjoy every minute of it.

I've got plenty of changes and upgrades still planned, and I'm looking forward to seeing where this build goes.

Build for yourself. Don't let numbers, trends, or anyone else's opinions determine your vision.

Enjoy the process. The journey is just as important as the destination.

Same car. Same N55. Two completely different sounds.

The first run was recorded with the mic mounted at the trunk to capture the exhaust. The car has a straight-piped exhaust paired with an @evolutionracewerks downpipe.

For the second run, I moved the mic into the engine bay to capture more of the intake, turbo and mechanical sound. The setup includes a @bimmerhausperformance Stage 2 V3 front-mount intake with a @ramairfilters PRORAM filter and velocity stack protected by a @filterwears sleeve.

The boost side uses a @gofastbits DV+, @sales_ftp_motorsport charge pipe, boost pipe and lower intercooler pipe with a @vrsf race intercooler.

Next time, I’m placing the mic directly beside the filter to isolate even more of the induction and turbo sound.

N55 fuel system — Part 1: the low pressure side.
Before blaming the high pressure pump, check what’s feeding it.

This 16-slide guide follows the system from the tank to the HPFP inlet: delivery assembly, EKPM3, PWM, wiring, pressure checks and fault-code diagnostics. It includes photos of my @arc_terminator upgraded EKPM3 with cooling fan and upgraded harness setup.

I’ve also added F10 parts-reference pages for N20, N55, N63 and N63TU examples: pump assemblies, seals, level sender, early N55 sensors and EKP controller revisions. Match every part to your VIN and production date; shared hardware does not make pressure targets or coding identical.

PWM means pulse-width modulation: the controller changes how long power stays ON during each cycle. The diagrams explain duty cycle and why a switched-output reading can differ from a real wiring voltage drop.

Save this for your next fuel-pressure diagnosis. Part 2 covers the HPFP, rail, direct injectors and high pressure testing.

Sometimes you’ve got to stop and appreciate how far it’s come. A lot of work, patience and learning went into getting this car here. Still plenty on the list, but I’m enjoying this view.

After weeks of planning, measuring, filming, and working through fitment changes, my complete EVIL ENERGY catch-can installation and BMW N55 crankcase-ventilation explanation is finally live in 4K.

@evil_energy_autoparts provided the main catch-can components used for this project. This is more than a quick installation video—I explain how the N55 crankcase-ventilation system operates under vacuum and boost, what a catch can can and cannot do, why hose and fitting size matter, and how I arrived at the final routing on my 2015 BMW 535i xDrive.

I also included the parts and ideas that didn’t make it into the final setup. The original plan did not work perfectly, and I wanted to document those fitment challenges instead of only showing the finished result.

Final routing:

Valve-cover outlet → catch-can IN: 3/4-inch SAE 30R7 hose

Catch-can OUT → intake: molded 3/4-inch hose connected to the breather-heater fitting on my MAF adapter

TORQUE. DONE RIGHT. 🔧

Wanted to revisit my torque wrench post and go a little deeper this time. Picking the right wrench, wet vs. dry torque, bolt markings, one-time-use fasteners and measuring torque angles. Plus some F10/N55 maintenance specs in Nm and ft-lb.

The number matters, but so do the threads, the hardware and the procedure you’re following.

Just trying to make this stuff easier to understand and help more of us take care of our own cars. Hopefully this answers a few questions before your next garage day 🤝
